Which branch has FSMO patch in it?
The 4.3.0 release has it. See "Samba-tool now supports all 7 FSMO roles" in https://www.samba.org/samba/history/samba-4.3.0.html On Mon, Oct 12, 2015 at 6:13 PM, John Lewis <oflameo2 at gmail.com> wrote: > Which branch of the Samba repository has Roland Penny's FSMO patch in > it? making samba 4.2 in a container
Thanks for the info. Did you create unprivileged containers to run Samba in? Windows pre-requisites for login with winbind?
Hi! Indeed!, this sounds like good advice... there are certainly bugs, I had to get the 7.04.5 package from "proposed" to get resolve a PAM library issue!... although I suppose that's a packaging problem. What is the best way to get an updated Samba package here, I'm trying to make this system reproduceable, I have a single script that builds the entire container, and sets up

Need another workaround for FSMO transfer problem
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Flexible_Single-Master_Operations_%28FSMO%29_roles#Transfering_a_FSMO_role I ran into that while trying to rebuild my LXC's as Debian 8. The proposed work arrounds assume you have access to a Windows Domain controller in your domain, and I don't. Is there anything else I can do to get all 7 Roles moved to my other domain controller so I can rebuild it?

Samba-ad-dc no longer listening on port 135
I have a Samba-ad-dc node no longer listening on port 135 making it impossible to replicate to it and It is holding up a domain upgrade. I appended the testparam output to give someone a chance to tell me how I mis-configured it. Is it possible to configure these these Domain Controllers to replicate over LDAP instead of RPC? -------------- next part -------------- Press enter to see a dump of

making samba 4.2 in a container
Someone recently mentioned building a samba addc in a linux container. I'm new to containers and would really love to learn how to do it correctly. Anyone know of how-to's or gotcha's related making samba run in an lxc containter? -- David Bear mobile: (602) 903-6476

Error while transferring fsmo-roles
Hello, I transfered all fsmo-roles from a DC (4.3.11-SerNet, SLES 11 SP3) to another DC (4.6.6-SerNet, SLES 12 SP2). I had to try a couple of times because of an error "Failed FSMO transfer: NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT" But then following error happened: samba-tool fsmo transfer --role=all This DC already has the 'rid' FSMO role This DC already has the 'pdc' FSMO role

Erro Transfer Fsmo(DNS)
So not the problem of using "seize" when both the OLD-FSMO server and NOVO-FSMo are active and on the network? The problem is to use "seize" if OLD-FSMO is not on the network and then come back?
