Hi Rowland, Thanks for the help. Yes, Joined to the domain, ftp uses pam authentication. After upgrading samba i found ftp pam authentication not working /etc/pam.d/ftp contains #%PAM-1.0 auth sufficient /lib/security/pam_smbpass.so auth sufficient /lib/security/pam_winbind.so cached_login auth required /lib/security/pam_winbind.so krb5_auth account required

In mac guest user is not working when AD connected - samba 4.9.3
Hi Andrew, If I give register user as vignesh/guest, its working fine. While selecting the Guest radio button, guest user is not working. Guest user is working fine without AD connection. Cannot access HOME folder after upgrading to 4.8 from 4.6
Hello- I upgraded Samba from 4.6 to 4.8 on a FreeBSD 11.2 server. After the upgrade, users cannot access the HOME folder share but they can access other shares just fine. After configured server signing, file transfer speed is very slow

Not Able to access cifs when AD connected to different network

Thanks rowland, I understand that there was a mess. and now i changed the smb.conf with the above as you instructed to be. But still i found same issue. I have two systems which connect to same AD. i found to different winbind logs. One uses pam_auth and other one which is not working uses pam_auth_crap while using pam logon. I browsed on this but unfortunately i am not able to find anything

Directory Permissions?

sorry for the late response Rowland, I didn't change the smb.conf with the same smb.conf, i configured new AD that works fine. Do you need to change the smb.conf could you please tell me what i need to change specifically. And i also suspect that problem with my AD server. But i am not able to find the exact problem, The confusion is Ftp works with same pam working fine but cifs always shows

"hide files" doesn't actually hide!
Our server is displaying files that shouldn't be shown such as .DS_Store ._DS_Store among others. Our smb4.conf file contains the following line: hide files = /_*/:*/.*/.AppleDB/.AppleDouble/.bin/.AppleDesktop/Temporary Items/ thus these files shouldn't be shown.
