Effect of setting "store dos attributes = no" in Samba 4.1.11
Thanks for your help and replies. Yes, I meant "store dos attributes".
It's pretty clear now that I need to keep the parameter 'store dos
attributes=no' since
1) the server is an AD member server and
2) the map* parameters don't do the right thing under ZFS / NFSV4 ACLs.
I've read that the steps Klaus Hartnegg listed resolves the issue on ZFS on
Linux; however, I

How to change samba4 domaine name
Hello all,
Mine is Active Directory domain.
I have already reinstall my server. It was fresh install. But of course I

Win10 to Samba as NT- PDC needs 3 settings
Hello Claus,
I have an openSUSE with Samba 4.4.4-3.1-3676 as PDC. There is no AD
running. We use roaming profiles.
I upgraded 11 Machines to Windows 10 having lot's of trouble with the
Startmenu and the Win10-Apps. I can confirm the logon-script isn't executed
since the Windows-Upgrade. Nobody - even Microsoft - could ever answer my
questions to have a working startmenu with Windows 10.

wrong calculation of R-squared in summary.lm
Dear all,
I just stumbled upon the fact, that when I perform a regression on
multivariate responses, that are not centred, I get a ricilulously high
R-squared value. After reading the code of summary.lm, I found a bug in
the function summary.lm:
mss is calculated by:
mss <-sum((f - mean(f))^2) - where f are the fitted values.
This works only for a single response variable, because

Wiki should have Readme First
Many first time users of Samba-4 seem to struggle with the same issues.
I suggest the Wiki should have a Readme First similar like this:
http://www.klaus-hartnegg.de/gpo/14-03-12-samba4.html
It basicly says that Samba 4 can behave either like Samba 3, or as
AD-DC, in which case it should do nothing else. Then it lists the main
differences, limitations, and requirements.
I would love to see a

hang-up with log="x" and segments (PR#1030)
I experienced the following problem with R 1.3.0 which is probably a
bug. The program hangs-up if 1.) a coordinate of segments is outside the

pxelinux : filenames without prefix
Hi,
I am trying with 3.09 to use filenames without prefix in the following manner:
dhcp.conf:
...
filename "/a/pxelinux.0";
...
default:
...
kernel ::/test/vmlinuz-smp
append initrd=::/test/initrd-smp.gz
...
With ethereal I see that the kernel is requested as expected. But the
initrd is requested as /a/test/initrd-smp.gz .
Btw, from the TODO file:

software deployment
Hi,
Just wondering: What are you guys using to deploy software on your
windows (7) workstations within the samba4 AD?
These are options I know of:
* wpkg (but it seems it's development is not too active)
* wpkg-gp using the group policies
* www.opsi.org (Client Management System for Windows clients)
* standard windows software deployment, but I think that's msi-only

Win10 to Samba as NT- PDC needs 3 settings
Upgrading Win7-32 (connected to Samba as NT-PDC) to Win10 requires
- disable HardenedUncPaths (MutualAuth & Integrity)
- install NTVDM
- enable LegacyConsole
otherwise the logon-script in Netlogon does not run,
even if samba.cnf contains "server max level = NT1"
Is Samba as NT-PDC supposed to handle HardenedUncPaths?
Did I miss that I should have enabled that somehow in smb.conf?
