Samba 4 and MS Windows NFS Server (2012R2)
Hi, has anyone out there tried to get a Windows Server 2012R2 based NFS Server running against a Samba4 active directory? I'm currently doing some interop testing, and I cannot get a Windows Server 2012R2 based NFS server running when using samba as AD. As far as i can tell, the setup looks good: I've got Linux based NFS servers and clients (Ubuntu + SuSE) up and running fine (krb5

Not enough storage space error
Hello Andrew & Louis, Yesterday by around 1:30 PM we had the same issue. Samba AD kicked all of us out and RSAT did not connect to any domain controllers. /*Incidentally the RSAT that caused this error was running on Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit edition.*/ When I restarted the samba-ad-dc service, all started working well again. However, as mentioned again, I could not trace the error

Samba4 on Ubuntu server
New to linux and new to Samba so any direction in troubleshooting would be helpful. Here is what I have so far. Within a half an hour of a reboot of the server my cpu reaches high numbers and becomes slow to respond on all actions. With my limited understanding I have used vmstat to observe the system. I noticed is that the numbers of forks grows from 1-2k to 43k within 30 minutes after reboot. I

Unable to access AD with ADExplorer
Hi, I have a test AD running Samba on Ubuntu that I sometimes poke with Sysinternal's ADExplorer. A few days ago I tried connecting to it, but got a short reply of "The directory service is not available." As it was working earlier, I tried finding the problem. After installing a few older releases, I found that it was working on Ubuntu 17.04, Samba 4.5.8 and stopped working on

computer name
Is there an r function that will be able to identify the computer the code is running on? I have some common code that I run on several computers and each has a database with a different server name - although the content is identical. I need to set thisServer depending on which machine the code is running on... something like... if(pcname = pc1) thisServer = 'SERVER1' if(pcname = pc2)

I still have few win 7 pc's connect to samba 3.6 PDC, without registry changes. But it all depends on correct dns / dns domainname /wins settings. ( for samba also, i always use "dns proxy = yes" ) If these arent correct, then the
