dnf-makecache.service failing every few days and dnf-automatic.service samba sssd issues (again).
Hello everybody, Could someone give me an estimate on when the repositories are resolving the right dependencies for the freeipa pacakges in CentOS Stream release 8? I have about +10 systems sending me alerts everyday that dnf-automatic.service is failing because of the freeipa dependency issues. Since freeipa is one of the security elements I would like to give people an estimate on when

Long awaited round 1 of NeXT patches.
This is about 90% of the core work. I omited a few files from the patch set since they are basicly small blocks of #ifndef HAVE_NEXT/#endif to get it to compile. Daimen, feel free to let me know what you applied and what your rejecting and why.. so I can work on cleaning things up. Andre, Only thing of note you may want to look into is NeXT does not use "ut_user" in it's lastlog.

provisioning fails
I would like it to provision a domain or have had no response on irc or the samba maing list as to why it fails. Having the wiki howto up to date would not be a bad idea either. <br> The wiki and most other online resources indicate the one should use the "provision" command. This command is no longer available in the S4RC you must use samba-tool to accomplish the task. sudo

OpenSSH on OpenStep 4.2 -- Mostly working!!! =)
I have an initial port of the SSH client. Only one known issue with it. sigaddset(), sigempty(), and sigprocmask() don't exist on NeXT without using libposix which I'm now avoiding (thanks, Garance A Drosehn) like the plague because it conflicts too much. Only thing this affects is the readpass.c file at this point. Which means if you ctrl-C out of the password prompt you mess up your

Mostly good news on the NeXT front.
I'll be able to test on next 4.2 after the initial 3.3 port. I have a vsnprintf/snprintf that compiles (works?) on NeXT. Not sure how portable nor if it truely solves the security issue (it's from the comp.sys.next.programmer fokes). Plus NeXT 3.3 (not sure about 4.2 yet) lacks a putenv(). I found one that compiles cleanly from the GNU libc fokes. Which brings up licensing issues.

building samba git master: error with pyldb-util/ldb

How to build Samba4 using static linked libraries
Hi All: I am building the torture/smbtorture for samba-4.0.0alpha17. After build, I am running the test in another environment. I not only need to copy the binary smbtorture, I also need to copy the shared libraries. This is HUGE inconvenient for us. Could somebody tell me how to build the binary using static linked libraries? Thanks very much Peixing libpthread.so.0 =>

Failed building any Samba version starting with v4.10.0
Hi, -j 1 did not help here, still that big number of "invalid string offset" messages. Is it the same on your end? @Rowland: same with you? I can work around by compiling on and using native Debian Buster 64bittish aarch64, based on https://people.debian.org/~gwolf/raspberrypi3/20190628/ , but I prefer to stay on Raspbian if possible.
