Help on setting up a samba domain controller
My current samba domain controller is running ClearOS. But I am migrating to ARM servers (cubieboards) and using RedSleeve for now, and Centos7arm when that gets rolling. The driver is power savings; my ROI just on power is ~15months. So I only run an NT style Domain Controller with XP clients and roaming user profiles. It works, as there are only a few systems here are really just my

Samba server choices
I have been running a customized version Amahi for a couple years for my Samba server. It is time for an upgrade, and I will be moving away from Amahi, as they have abandoned Fedora for Ubuntu. Back when I selected Amahi to replace my 15 year old NT server, I looked around and only considered SME Server as an alternative, but they were still on Centos 4.7 with the Centos 5 based version

Moving a computer from a down domain to a new domain
I had been running a samba server, the AMAHI F12 distro, that has samba 3.4.9. It ran well enough, but I was planning on replacing it with ClearOS. Well monday night I lost my server harddrive, so now it is crunch time to update/upgrade. I think I have ClearOS configured properly, it is running samba 3.6.10 (Redhat 6.4 based). So far I have tried to add two of my XP systems to the new

Centos 6 - disabling IPv6 addressing
How about, in your /etc/sysconfig/network file adding or editing the line for IPV6 to be: NETWORKING_IPV6=no and then try a 'service network restart' and see what you get. Sorry - that should be sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.all.accept_ra=0 to disable that, not 1. A set of questions before building a new server
I have a Samba server here with 4 users and 4 XP systems. Kind of small, but it does the job. It is running as a PDC with roaming profiles. I should note that I left professionally supporting Windows networking around the time XP came out, so I have maintained an NTDomain through a number of incarnations (NT, Win2000, Samba2/3) and use of someone elses packaging. This time I want to use

Looking for SElinux help
This is a little OT, but I hope that someone here could help me privately... The challenge is Redsleeve (EL6 for arm) was developed on armv5 and works just fine on armv7 if you have an armv7 kernel, which I do with the Fedora 19 remix. But no working SElinux, primarily because something like no SElinux in the armv5 kernel (little unclear as to why not, but it is not germaine to this
