Migration Samba3 -> Samba4: Accessing domain member server is not working
Hi ...
When trying to migrate from samba3 to samba 4.2.2 I am facing a severe
problem that bugs me for hours now. I cannot get a samba 4.2.2
fileserver to work with a samba 4.2.2 PDC as a domain member.
My scenario:
Samba 3 network. PDC and fileserver where Samba 3.6.25. LDAP backend.
We can't move to AD right now so I wanted to move to the current 4.2.2
at least to do this step but to

squared semi-partial correlation
Hi, can you help? I am really struggling to find the answer to the
following question.
I have conducted a standard multiple regression using SPSS. The dependent
variable is CE, and the independent variables are Ibelieve and Tbelieve.
Because the independent variables are highly correlated I have examined the
squared semi-partial correlations. I
understand that the Ibelieve squared semi partial

Win7 - Samba 3.5.4 trust relationship
Hello all,
I guess that everyone knows the message "the trust relation between this
workstation and the primary domain failed" when joining Win7 into samba
domain. Unfortunately, the same problem appeared few hours/days after the
machine was successfully joined in the domain(with reg keys from
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Windows7) and user able to use it for
awhile. Then at

Windows 8 Pro no domain logon possible
Hi....
Some days ago I installed windows 8 pro from MSDN on one of my machines.
I got a serious problem with it. I cannot logon as domain user.
I first tried joining my domain from win8 with an unchanged win8
installation. This did fail. Afterwards I applied the usual windows 7
registry patches to allow a samba domain join and rebooted. Afterwards I
could join my domain with no trouble. I

ISDN D-channel disconnects for a minute every 5 minutes
I have a problem with Asterisk-bristuffed using a zaphfc card.
I am located in the Netherlands, so I have an ISDN line from KPN. When I
start Asterisk, and plug in the ISDN line, everything works perfectly for
about 5 minutes. And then the ISDN line is down for 1 minute, and after that
minute, the line comes back up and works for another 5 minutes. Every time
the line goes down I get the error

What is the minimum version of Samba supported on AIX version 5.1. I have

Big problems with samba 4.17.7 with classic domain (NT4) and LDAP
Hi...
We are still using NT4 classic domain with a couple of samba server but
want to upgrade step by step to AD as a distant goal.
We tried to upgrade to samba 4.17.7 as in intermediate step and keep LDAP
for now but fail as we could not find a suitable
example for id mapping. Hope someone can help!
Previously we did run samba 4.7 on CentOS 7 without problems as domain

Intermediate Interface?
Is there a way to force ingress traffic into appearing as egress traffic
for the purpose of traffic shaping.
e.g.
eth0 ------> TestMachine -------> lo ---------> TestMachine ---------> eth1
Can you use a loopback or similar interface so that it appears that the
data is being sent out and back in a pseudo-interface? This would allow
egress filtering as it was passed out

smbclient times out to 445 after upgrade to XP SP2
I think this is probably an XP SP2 issue but perhaps you've seen
it before?
We use smbclient 3.0.13 to download files from a machine
"Testmachine" that used to run Windows 2000 and use the
zonealarm firewall. A couple of days ago it was upgraded
to XP SP2 (fully patched) using the built in
Microsoft firewall. One folder "Example" was "shared" and the

SeDiskOperatorPrivilege and 2012 R2 domain
Don't be scared and take the challenge! :-)
Reduce your smb.conf to the minimum as seen in the member server wiki and try it again. It should work then.

SeDiskOperatorPrivilege and 2012 R2 domain
Tim,
Thanks for the hint. Usermap for root applied, locally made requests fail
now systematically with
"Could not connect to server <server address>
Connection failed: NT_STATUS_LOCK_NOT_GRANTED"
It is kind of improvement :) Random things scare me.

Kernel errors, resulting in system crashes
Hi Guys,
After a chat with some helpful people on Freenode I've included as much
information as I can think to about this error, if you need anything else
please don't hesitate to ask.
I run a webserver (remotely administered, no graphical user interface that
i know of - certainly not one running all the time) - in the past few days
this error has started to occur, the system dies and
