ldbrename does not rename container users CN=Deleted Objects
Hello everybody.
When a user or group account is deleted, the user or group account is moved
to CN=Deleted Objects,DC=domain,DC=com
I can find them with the command:
ldbsearch -H ldap://localhost --show-deleted "cn=*DEL:*" -U administrator
Password for [DOMAIN\administrator]:
# record 1
dn: CN=user1\0ADEL:f53b71f8-a3e8-4997-bd84-5504235d3b31,CN=Deleted

restore deleted user (ldbrename) on samba 4.9.1 fails
Dear list,
I am trying to restore an deleted user object with samba 4.9.1 (sernet
packages). I am aware that the object will lose some attributes without
recycle bin enabled (enabling it is still not recommended, right?)
I tried to rename the object in order to make the necessary
modifications afterward (as documented in Stefan Kania's Samba 4 book).
But ldbrename already fails.

ldbrename does not rename container users CN=Deleted Objects
Sadly the AD recycle bin isn't known to be reliably working in Samba.
The main effect that was noticed is that for some reason when enabled,
from memory, it caused the object to vanish almost instantly, rather
than remain as a tombstone for a time (eg, it did the opposite).
I've had investigating this properly on my wish-list for some time, but
it is one of those annoying tasks that I

It had been working up to Samba 4.8 and with the recyclebin active you
could restore every attributre, but since 4.9 it's not working anymore

Restore a user?
[As a separate thread, I am going to do post mortem of how I got here - and what not to do. I have a locked computer logged in as this user - need to unlock and access unsaved content.]
I either need to resore the user or create a new user of the same name and sid.
I am using Version 4.8.2 - commit e64d0d03351ce8fbc1f929fa86dcfd8d56183f35 .
Names have been changed to protect the guilty.

restore deleted user (ldbrename) on samba 4.9.1 fails
sorry it's not working any more. At least if you have more then one DC.
I didn't get an answer to this problem so that's the reason why it will
not be part of the new samba4 book :-(

Database-conversion
Dear R-Users,
I store my data in an Postgres-table.
I can connect with Rdbi.PgSQL, that is no the problem.
The problem is the NA-Values. No-data-values are coded as -9999 in the
table.
But when I extrct them with any SELECT-statement, the -9999-values are
treated as normal vectors.
How can I tell R not to fetch the datasets containig -9999-values?
thanks for your help

The problem is that renaming a user on Linux works the opposite way to
Windows and neither renames everything.
If you rename on Linux with ldbrename, it renames dn, cn,

Getting a dynamically generated elements dimensions
Ive posted this before, but unfortunately I still have yet to resolve
it after numerous attempts...
Here is the overview: populate a container element with some new html
using Element.update and then retrieve the new dimensions of the
containig element.
Here is a bit of code snippet that I would think should work.. but
doesn''t:

store variables in a for loop using get()
Dear R list,
I have a problem in assigning values to existing data frames in R. I have a
vector x containing the names of the data frames, which I create to store
the results for each variable (a1,a2,a3) obtained in time series moving
regressions. Thus, say,
x=c('a1','a2','a3')
Moreover, b is a vector containig unique dates of the points in time of the

recommanded way to restore objects from Deleted Objects
Hi everyone,
in samba 4.5 changelog, it says that samba AD now supports tombstone
reanimation. I've been used to ldbrename and ldbmodify to reanimate
objects to keep objectSID, but if it is now officially supported, it
would be better to use the proper way.
Sysinternals tool adrestore [1] seems to be working properly (it does
not restore most attributes, but this is expected since
