Samba 4 and MS Windows NFS Server (2012R2) - Update
Hi again,
I just started to debug things on the samba4 side:
When trying to mount the Windows NFS share, I get the following error on
the samba4 dc (just grepping for nfs in the logs):
auth_check_password_send: Checking password for unmapped user [S5DOM.TEST]\[nfs/nfsclient.mydom.test]@[]
map_user_info_cracknames: Mapping user [MYDOM.TEST]\[nfs/nfsclient.mydom.test] from workstation []

Centos 7 | Rebind ctrl + alt + f# keystroke to application
Hello,
I am new to Centos and this mailing list.
I have an application (IntelliJ IDEA) which uses the ctrl+alt+f# key
combinations to provide shortcuts. The keystrokes are bind to the ttys
virtual consoles. Is there anyway to rebind the keystrokes to the
application?
I tried the following solution (xorg.conf edit) but my PC freezes during
boot process. I had to rollback the xorg.conf changes

rebind interface configuration in samba
Hi,
I have a virtual IP which migrate from one server to another depending the
server status. I have a problem with this behaviour and samba.
When the IP migrates to another server, in the first server samba is
stopped.
When the IP is going to come back to the first server, samba is started and
after that the IP come back.
The problem is: Samba (smbd) doesn't bind the IP because it is

nitwit's attempt to edit samba source
Hi,
Since I really would like some more info (specifically: remote ip
address) to be logged with failed password attempts, I have tried to
edit the samba source code. :-)
Anyway, I changed in source4/auth/ntlm/auth.c

How to rebind an email address for my LLVM rw account?
Hi!
Some time ago my email address, that I use for committing to LLVM SVN
repo has changed (nasty corporate mail changing) and now it's not
aligned with email I sent to Chris according to
http://llvm.org/docs/DeveloperPolicy.html#obtaining-commit-access page .
Unfortunately it's not possible to forward all messages from LLVM
mailing lists from my old address to new one, so I wonder

shared folder in the samba domain, can't be access on trusting domain users
Hi,
Anybody got experienced that the shared folder (in SAMBAAD domain) can't be
accessible on the trusting domain (TESTHV).
Background: SAMBAAD has one-way trust with TESTHV. TESTHV users can
login in the SAMBAAD connected machines. Currently using Version 4.9.0rc5.
It's working fine if the SAMBAAD users access with it, but users in TESTHV
could not access with it even the permission

Samba follow sym links
Hi
I have some problems with samba 3.5.6 on debian lenny.
I have symbolic links in some shared directories, and samba should
follow these links.
Without any special config entries, my smb client just list sym links to
folders as unknown files:
? l????????? ? ? ? ? ? myfolder
With the following configuration:
follow symlinks = yes
wide links = yes

Strange SAMBA4 situation
Hello,
I am facing a strange situation:
I have downloaded the sources with git, configure and compiled (Samba
Version 4.1.0pre1-GIT-76fa5ee) just like in the HowTo doc, here:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO
All the tests were ok. I am using internal DNS of Samba4.
I have successfully added one XP machine to the domain controlled by
samba server. On this XP system I have

nitwit's attempt to edit samba source
Hi Viktor!
Thanks for your try at this, I am already doing what you suggest: the
iptables - timestaps. But that is rather troublesome, and I would very
much samba to log this vital info.
Anyway, I tried what you suggested, and now it stopped compiling. :-)
Does this error perhaps tell you something, or are you just as clueless
as I am now:

Samba 4 and MS Windows NFS Server (2012R2) - Update
Try this on your samba DC.
amba-tool spn list PCNAME$
You should see something like:
PCNAME$$
User CN=PCNAME,CN=Computers,DC=internal,DC=domain,DC=tld has the following servicePrincipalName:
HOST/PCNAME
HOST/PCNAME.internal.domain.tld
nfs/PCNAME.internal.domain.tld
nfs/PCNAME.internal.domain.tld at YOUR_REALM
can you confirm this for both your servers which

BDC constantly rebinds to master ldap server causing browsing delay
Hello,
I seem to be having an issue where one of my BDC servers constantly needs
to rebind to the "master" ldap server (ldap1.ae-solutions.com). Whenever
this happens I see several entries in the log like this:
"smbldap_search_ext: waiting 928 milliseconds for LDAP replication."
It appears to cause delay when browsing samba shares whenever this
happens. The master

Samba 4 and MS Windows NFS Server (2012R2) - Update
hai,
The servers have "A and PTR" records?
You have for both server these UPNs.
nfs/${SETFQDN} ${SETHOSTNAME_CAPS}$
nfs/${SETFQDN}@${SAMBA_KERBEROS_REALM} ${SETHOSTNAME_CAPS}$
on the samba side the nfs spn is in you keytab file?
and if your brave, read, * dont run it, since i did not test this with windows servers.
