look : winbind depends on samba (= 2:4.1.18+dfsg-3~inverse1); however: >2:4.1.18+dfsg-3~inverse1 so mixed setup of ubuntu with inverse packages of samba. You need to use the inverse packages of samba to keep openchange working. I suggest you set your package pinning. OR ! remove the inverse : winbind version and install the ubuntu version. Ok Steve, to be sure.. run : apt-key adv --keyserver keys.gnupg.net --recv-key 0x810273C4 if not done yet. add to /etc/apt/source.list.d/openchange.list deb http://inverse.ca/ubuntu trusty trusty or deb http://inverse.ca/ubuntu-nightly trusty trusty to force the needed packages. __COPY_PAST_START cat << EOF >> /etc/apt/preferences.d/preferences-ubuntu-trusty Package: * Pin:

Question re kerberos . . .
I've used the Samba AD DC HOWTO <https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO> to install Samba 4 as an Active Directory/Domain Controller. I've successfully configured the domain/realm and DNS (as far as I can tell) and worked my way through Testing Your Samba Domain Controller <https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO#Testing_Your_Samba_Domain_Controller>

RPC Server is unavailable . . .
Ubuntu 14.04, Samba 4.1.6 I'm having trouble connecting Windows clients to the domain. "The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "smbdomain": The RPC server is unavailable." When you attempt to join the domain, it finds it by name immediately and asks for username/password, after which it gives the error above. I haven't found documentation on

Samba-AD-DC package question . . .
I have an existing Samba-AD-DC built from Inverse packages, v.4.1.18+dfsg-3~inverse1 I have OpenChangeServer installed on that machine, v.2.4-zentyal6 When I start OpenChange, it "shuts down" my Samba-AD-DC so that no one can login. To troubleshoot my problem, I've built a "new" Samba-AD-DC from the same Inverse packages, but I see a slight difference in the installed

Ok Steve, Now its time to edit the status file of the packages. make a backup of : /var/lib/dpkg/status open it with an editor. search for "Package samba" , you probly see" installed ok not-configured. and change status to : Status: install ok installed after the change run : apt-get -f install that should do the trick. Samba4 openchange status
I strongly and completely disagree with statement that is "IMHO the need for openchange is disappearing. " It is the only and one project/soft providing Exchange functionality on Linux platform. 21.04.2016 17:24, Neil Price пишет: > On 21/04/2016 09:53, Mueller wrote: >> Hallo to all, >> >> does anyone know about the status of openchange ? >> It sems to
