Does samba4.2 support for subdomain? In others words, a forest with more than one domain.
Or we just can create a DC with one domain yet.
Thanks

problem with time sync on windows 10 clients
I guess your DC take the time from an external ntps server. But I want to serve time from the same DC, so this is my ntp config:
#nano /etc/ntp.conf
server 127.127.1.0
fudge 127.127.1.0 stratum 12
ntpsigndsocket /var/lib/samba/ntp_signd/restrict default mssntp

unable to configure NTP server in samba4
Hello everyone,
I was trying to configure NTP server in my samba4 server but it's not working. I am using CentOS 6.3 (32 bit) for my samba4 server.
I installed ntp using yum and the ntp version is 4.2.4
added this line in /etc/ntp.conf
restrict mynet mssntp
signdsocketdir /data/samba/samba4/prefix/var/run/ntp_signd/
and restarted the ntpd server but my clients are not syncing with the

Add pool.ntp.org to TipsAndTricks/Server_Time
Hey
I would like to add the URL http://www.pool.ntp.org/ to the wiki entry
TipsAndTricks/Server_Time so people can find different servers to
tick.usno.navy.mil
Just something like:
If you don't want to use navy.mil you can find a ntp server near you

NTP on CentOS 3.4
Running CentOS 3.4, I enabled the ntpd service and noticed that it
opens up a hole in the firewall for ntp from 127.127.1.0. I look in
the ntpd initscript and see that it's reading in servers from
/etc/ntp/step-tickers. However, that file is empty...
/etc/ntp/ntpservers contains clock.redhat.com and clock2.redhat.com,
but ntpservers isn't used *anywhere*.
This looks like a bug, but

Trying to get a grasp on NTP server/client access control options
Hi,
I'm currently sinking my teeth into NTP, to build a local time server.
So far, configuring a local NTP server and getting the clients to
connect to it works well. Now, I'm thinking about securing the whole
thing. BTW, I made a copy of the original ntp.conf file and started my
own from scratch.
Right now, I have five printed books opened on the corresponding
chapters (Carla

Greets!
Ok. I'm looking at a client that needs to keep their server time close
as reasonably possible (within a minute) of the actual time of day.
I've installed the RPM for NTP and I'm looking for tips on what the
simplest setup should be, ie:
What server(s) should I be using for sync?
Should I just run it from a cron every 20 minutes or so?
thx.

NTP problems
My server is supposed to be using ntp, with nothing changed from the defaults
set up by CentOS5. However, daily I see log entries like
Total synchronizations 2 (hosts: 2)
**Unmatched Entries**
sendto(193.6.222.20) (fd=21): Invalid argument: 1 time(s)
sendto(141.89.226.2) (fd=21): Invalid argument: 1 time(s)
Does this mean that ntp is failing? I assume so, and if so, how do I change

ntp will not drift to correct time
Hi
On 5.3 i have a situation where some boxes have been 3 or 4 seconds out
and restarting ntpd has fixed the issue.
What i dont understand is why the clocks did not drift to the correct
time when the config seems correct in that restarting ntp did correct
the time.
Is there something 'special' i need to do in order for the drift to work?
$ cat /etc/ntp.conf

Correct NTP Settings for Samba 4.0.6?
Hello,
I recently compiled Samba 4.0.6 (as an AD DC) and am running it on Ubuntu 12.04.
I followed the instructions on the Samba wiki (https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configure_NTP)
for how to configure ntp, however the domain clients are rejecting the DCs as
being acceptable time sources. Below is my ntp.conf:
server 127.127.1.0
fudge 127.127.1.0 stratum 10
server 0.pool.ntp.org iburst

unable to configure NTP server
Hello
I am still struggling with the NTP server configuration.
Is there no method by which I can sync all my domain users with the same
time as on server because I have to face alot of issue due to the same.
I have searched alot but the only thing which I found was to add these two
lines in my ntp.conf
ntpsigndsocket /opt/ad/samba4/var/run/ntp_signd/
restrict default mssntp
I am using CentOS 6

NTP
Hi folks,
Have there been any changes to the way ntpd behaves in the past few
updates? Reason I ask, whenever I run the ntpq or ntpdc, I immediately
get a response of Name or service not known. I know things used to work
sometime back, and never saw this kind of stuff. Nothing has changed in
the /etc/ntp.conf file, nor has anything changed in the
/etc/ntp/ntpservers files.

Setting up NTP server
Greetings,
Please treat this post with kid gloves as I am bit rusty of the late on
centos and last NTP server that I worked on was during centos 5.1 days.
I am going to have to install centos 6.3 in coming week in all windows
environment.
This box will be the tunning glpi and ocs-inventory.
I am planning to have two NICs: one facing the raw internet and other on a
Private LAN.
I want this box

Centos 7 and ntp
I've curious about where and how Centos 7 gets its ntp configuration from.
When I installed the operating system, I went through this page and told it to use "network time", as shown:

I just discovered that i don't actually have ntp installed on this computer, though the rpm does exist when I

NTP traffic blocked
I have multiple VM's on the same KVM host. One of the VM's is running NTP.
All VM's can reach eachother, no firewall in between. But the problem is,
the VM's cannot communicate over port 123/udp to the NTP VM.
Network: 172.24.100.0/22
KVM: 172.24.101.50
VM ntp: 172.24.102.10
VM foo: 172.24.102.20
