Hi! I'm trying to add a member to be used as fileserver, following the guides at: - https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setup_a_Samba_AD_Member_Server - https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Using_RFC2307_on_a_Samba_DC The AD server has been in use for month, but I can't get user information from the new member. samba 3.6: "autorid" has no domain order
Hello, i try to create a samba server for more then one trusted domain. I know there were some issues with samba 3.5, and in the internet i always read, i should use samba 3.4. So i wanted to give 3.6 a chance. I first tried autorid with a config like this: winbind enum users = yes winbind enum groups = yes idmap backend = autorid idmap gid = 100000-1499999

wbinfo -u and -g work, getent passwd works, getent group DOES NOT WORK
Hi, I'm trying to get some Ubuntu8.04 clients to authenticate to an Ubuntu8.04 Samba domain controller. Everyone is running Samba 3.0.28a. Side question: should I upgrade to 3.2? Keep in mind that means finding binaries for ubuntu or compiling from source for a server and 20 clients. Basically wbinfo -u and -g work, getent passwd works, getent group DOES NOT WORK. My domain is called

AD integration: "getent passwd" can't see *new* users, but "wbinfo -u" can
I have two different systems (on different networks) showing this behavior. Both are running Ubuntu Dapper/606.1 LTS with samba version 3.0.22 and windows 2003 sp1 servers (not R2). AD integration is done via winbind, with nss using winbind. At some point in time (which is unknown to me), the samba server stopped seeing new users, groups, machines which are added to AD. scenario: I add a new

Winbind - wbinfo -u works, getent passwd only gives local users
I only have limited Samba experience, and expect this is a silly mistake, but have been unable to find a solution I have installed Samba and Winbind on my desktop Linux (Debian) machine (SPARKSTONELX), aiming to unify logins with other windows machines accessing the PDC, again samba/Debian, with tdbsam password backend. All is well, joining the domain, and getting account details using wbinfo -u,

domain member idmap wbinfo WBC_ERR_DOMAIN_NOT_FOUND
Hi, I've done a classic upgrade to from samba 3.6.23 to samba 4.6.5 bringing across all the user accounts. The samba 3.6.23 we set up with smbldap as an NT Domain with OpenLDAP. After a lot of effort the classic upgrade worked well but now I'm a bit stuck with idmapping. The new AD DC is running 4.6.5 on CentOS7 and I can connect using ADUC. I set up a separate AD DM on a another CentOS7

"Wbinfo -u" get user account sucessfully but "getent passwd" fails
Hi everybody, I got a problem here with my Samba ADS member server. It functions as a file server and works for a long time. A few weeks ago our Active Directory domain controller failed due to power outage. We fixed it and now an employee reports that he could not use the samba file server any more. I restarted samba service and did the following testing: 1) getent passwd <thisUser>

getent passwd and wbinfo -u returns machine names too
Hi, first I like to thank the samba team for making it possible to keep the UID's consistant across multiple machine. I've just got a quick question about my winbind implementation. I'm running 3.0.9 on fedora core 2, using my AD for authentication via winbind. When I run 'getent passwd' or 'wbinfo -u' I get the computer names from AD as well as the usernames. (now
