Time synchronization issue
Hi,
I have set a Samba AD DC on my network. Version is 4.1.17 on a Debian
Wheezy.
I have an issue on my Windows XP SP3 clients : the time on these computers
is not synchronized with my Domain Controler.
Big problem is, if time difference is considerable (more or less 5
minutes), users can not log in.
On the other hand, my server is correctly synchronized with NTP server.
I don't

Hello Andrey
Thanks for the trick. I'll try it.
But it's a pity it doesn't work natively, right ?

Single Table inheitance doesn''t show subclasses ?
Hi, I am a Rails noob.
Suppose you have:
---
class Animal < ActiveRecord::Base
end
class Mammal < Animal
end
class Cow < Mammal
end
---
I provide Animal,Mammal and Cow controllers with the scaffolding, just
to test and to fill up the Animal table. I can see the "type" column
getting it''s value set with the class name.
So far, soo good.
Now, since listing Animals

Unable to browse system shares of a newly migrated AD DC
I think this wont work since the user connectig isnt known in the AD,
since the user connecting is mapped to user nobody.

auth_check_password_send: mapped user is: [CCENTER]\[]@[]

Cannot authenticate the administrator account
SUCCESS.........up to the point of kerberos tickets.
((What a difference a night's sleep can do for logic neurons.))
Everything works with the provisioning now except for kerberos.
The setup follows and ends with the kinit, klist, and kvno errors/failures:
[root at dc1 ~]# hostname -f
dc1.internal.example.com
[root at dc1 ~]# hostname -s

[root at dc1 ~]# hostname -d

Winbind idmap partially fails to load attributes with 4.6.7 (Ubuntu 17.10)
Greetings, All!
I'm stumbled upon an event I can't understand. Rolled out a new Ubuntu 17.10
box in preparation for eventual 18.04 launch and… it just does not fly.
Here's a brief and apparent summary of the problem:
$ smbd -V; getent passwd anrdaemon
Version 4.3.11-Ubuntu (14.04, 16.04)

samba-tool domain provision --use-rfc2307 --interactive fail
Ok tomas.
For a good removal of all samba packages.
1) for x in `dpkg -l | grep samba` ; do apt-get remove --purge $x ; done
2) apt-get remove --purge winbind
That should clear all packages of samba.
When thats done. Try the install again.

Probably not related, but I had an issue with kerberos and it turns out
I had the wrong host name for 127.0.0.1 in /etc/hosts

Unable to access directories after Samba upgrade
Greetings, All!
I have an extremely strange issue.
I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 and after upgrading Samba to
4.3.11+dfsg-0ubuntu0.14.04.6 I'm unable to access third level of
subdirectories on shares.
ACLs are even on both 2nd and 3rd levels, but I get access denied no matter
what I do.

I'm using the latest version of wheezy-backports (Version 4.1.17-Debian)

doing tests before change anything in production servers), but i'm planing
to use a File Server and a Print Server in separated machines and I need to
have access to AD users. If I disable winbind entries on

DNS: Migrate from BIND9_FLATFILE to SAMBA_INTERNAL (Samba 4.1.17)
Dear all,
I have a few question regarding to DNS and upgrading from Samba 4.1.17 to 4.4.2.
After reading about the Badlock Bug, I feel the urge to upgrade my
Samba installation and to move from BIND9_FLATFILE to
SAMBA_INTERNAL_DNS.
I am using Samba version 4.1.17.
During provisioning (some years ago) I have decided to use BIND9_FLATFILE.
At this moment I would like to upgrade to Samba 4.4.2 and
