Can't add machines to domain after Debian-Update
Guten Tag Samba-List,
after updating my Linux-Server from Debian Etch to Lenny, some of my
workstations (W2kSP4) couln't log into the domain. I removed the
machines from the domain, changed the name, created a new
machine-account, but I still can't add the machine to the domain.
My /etc/smb.conf (see below the logfile) is unchanged since Debian Etch.

Creation of Domain- and PDC-SID in samba
hi
just a question to understand
we have a NT PDC and i successfully transfered it's data to samba 3.0
because we're cautious i let the NT PDC "online" (domain=evan) and
introduced samba with the same date in a new domain (domain=testevan)
for testing purposes
to get rid of conflicts i had to change the SID of the samba server,
because my knowledge tells me: "a sid

samba 4.2 RDP problem
Hi Heinz,
did you ever resolved this RDP issue? Or found any hints about the possible
DNS problems?
We run into the same problem here with Win 8.1 Pro clients.
Thanks for you answer.

4.2 RDP problem
I am having the problem explained in the thread subject: samba 4.2 RDP
problem
The problem is when signing in a domain user via RDP. The
authentications works but the machine hangs on
the Welcome screen.
In the samba log the last thing I see is: rpc command: WINREG_OPENHKLM
As mentioned in that thread, changing the auth to: auth methods = sam,
sam_ignoredomain, unix, winbind, wbc,

samba 4.2 RDP problem
Hi,
same problem here!
Updated my test-environment with two Dcs from sernet-samba 4.1.17-10 to 4.2.1-7.
And now if you try to open a rdp session to a client mashine and login
with domain credentials the login hangs right after the welcome screen appears.
It does not matter if you use the domain admin or a normal user account.
Local client side user are working without any problem.

sorry for the noise..
I missed the solution in my mail. just saw it online..

samba 4.2 RDP problem
Hi Mathias
I can confirm that this fixed the RDP issue for me whilst not breaking
share authentication. I'm still a bit wary of what other affects these
configuration options might have though.
Thanks

"auth methods = sam, sam_ignoredomain, unix, winbind, wbc, trustdomain, ntdomain, guest"
-> RDP works
-> smbclient -k does not work
"auth methods = sam, sam_ignoredomain, unix, winbind, wbc, trustdomain, ntdomain, guest, samba4"
-> RDP hangs an the welcome-scrren
-> smbclient -k works fine

Problems with ACLs
Hi,
I have a Samba4 File Server on Debian 10
I am not being able to assign permissions on shares to groups that already
have the Unix attribute set. Groups without the Unix attribute are working
OK.
My two DC are Samba4 (migrated of the Windows 2008 Server) and my current
File Servers are Windows 2008 Server.
I followed "Setting up a Share Using Windows ACLs" tutorial (

Can't connect after AuthN: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Been using Samba since the early days and it's always worked terrifically.
Install it from RPM or apt or yum, make a few tweaks to the smb.conf and
I'm off and running without fail.
So to run into a situation where I'm getting denied has really stumped me.
I dialed up logging to try and get a peek into what's failing and things
start falling apart around NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
