Fwd: Re: Fwd: Re: Fwd: Re: Kerberos and NTLMv2 authentication
So I re run the test with domain users gid 14513
Still not working (sssd stopped, nsswitch.cnf with? "files winbind" for
passwd group, # net cache flush + restart winbindd smb)
On the samba server :
# wbinfo -i MYDOMAIN\usertest
MYDOMAIN\usertest:*:10430:*14513*:user TEST:/home/usertest:/bin/bash
In log, I have :
myw7worstation.log

Fwd: Re: Fwd: Re: Fwd: Re: Kerberos and NTLMv2 authentication
The 2 commands works :
# getent passwd MYDOMAIN\\usertest
MYDOMAIN\\usertest:*:10430:14513:user TEST:/home/usertest:/bin/bash
# getent group MYDOMAIN\\"Utilisateurs du domaine"
MYDOMAIN\utilisateurs du domaine:x:14513:
I have to put "Utilisateurs du domaine" instead of Domain\ Users because
the Windows AD is a french AD.

Fwd: Re: Fwd: Re: Fwd: Re: Kerberos and NTLMv2 authentication
Hello,
I performed a test in order to get access to my samba share with
winbindd (and not sssd).
For that,
1. I change the gid of domain users from 513 to 15513 (to match with the
domain range 10000 - 14999)
And verify my test user is part of 15513
2. Stop sssd and change nsswitch.conf like this :
/passwd:???? files winbind//
//shadow:???? files//
//group:????? files //winbind//
/
3.

Access to Windows 2016 server works with IP but not with netbios name
Hi,
Here's a modified (to protect the customer's information) truncated
smb.conf that, for the most part, mirrors what they have:

os level = 1
security = ADS
server string = TEST CIFS Server
workgroup = WG
netbios name = FRED1
realm = WB.DOM-NAME.COM

Samba Domain server authentication
Hi,
We're having issues accessing shares from our Samba file server.
If we try to access the share from a domain joined Windows machine, it
prompts with enter username and password. If we supply the domain password
it fails. The error that we get is the following.
Failed to find a Unix account for peteruser 'lin\aadamson' (from session
setup) not permitted to access this share (data)

user authentication issue
Hey Jeremy,
Thanks for the advice. I followed your suggestion collected the logged
information for a single connection attempt (i.e. smbclient
//servername/sharename -U username); I've included the log data below (in
the postscript). It looks like Samba is still looking for a Unix user
account and not finding one. I should mention that it seems that I am able
to authenticate as the user; the

[LLVMdev] An LLVM 1.3 Request
Hi List,
There is an outstanding bug, #257, pertaining to separating out the
detailed testing infrastructure from the main LLVM code. I would like to
see fixed in the 1.3 release time frame. The bug can be found here:
http://llvm.cs.uiuc.edu/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=257
I would have taken this one and done the work necessary but
unfortunately I don't have CVS rights and this is almost

Samba Domain server authentication
Hi,
The setup used to work on a when both file and AD were in the same box.
We're trying to separate them.
The 'net rpc testjoin' gives: Join to "LIN" is ok.
The wbinfo -u does list all users with "LIN\username". The getent passwd
lists the LIN\username with all the attrributes". This is after putting in
your suggestions about winbind trusted domains only and

Fwd: Re: Fwd: Re: Fwd: Re: Kerberos and NTLMv2 authentication
Is it possible to make start DOMAIN range from 500 instead of 10000 ?
I realized that all my gid are in range 500 to 600 and not in range
10000 - 14999
I thought? DOMAIN range 10000 - 14999 was reserved for DOMAIN users

smbclient suddenly getting access denied
Hi,
On Saturday I was able to run smbclient to connect to my Samba share
just fine. Nothing was rebooted and nothing was installed/updated
except for adding Python and Putty on the Windows server. The Windows
server is running Windows Server 2016 and my Samba client is running
3.6.3 (it's the latest from SLES 11 but ported to SLES 10 - long
story...).
But today when I try to connect I get:

SIP Testing-Tool
Hi All,
Does anyone know, if there is a tool, which is doing the follwing:
- Testprogram on host A establishes a sip connection to testprogramm on
host B
- Testprogram on host A plays a tone and Testprogram B verifies, if tone
is playing correctly (without any interruptions)
Thank You.
