Roman,
it was easier if you used :

net ads join fails
Oh, I have a pair of samba-4.1.17-DC's, raspberry-pi and dc2 to which make the domain ad.dilken.eu on site Neuoetting.
resolv.conf points to the two dc's:
search ad.dilken.eu
nameserver 192.168.2.33
nameserver 192.168.2.2
In the output I find some relations to dc2 resp. 192.168.2.2, but perhaps it doesn't work as expected..
Greetings

net ads join fails
Hi,
i've got a problem joining a domain with samba 4.1.17 on freebsd.
Everytime I try it, the join fails with a core dump.
Debugging it, it seems that it is stuck on authentication. Kerberos
works, I get credentials, but if I try to join the domain, it fails.
The problem seems to be somwhere in this debug-output:
1. net ads join:
Doing spnego session setup (blob length=96)

renaming default first site or moving a server to a different site problem
Hi,
We have different locations at our company and I'm trying to separate them
into different sites. I'm using the "Active Directory Sites and Services"
tool but when I try to rename the default-first-site, the tools goes in not
responding state.
I also tried to create a new site. This works but when I try to move a
server to the site, it freezes again.

Changing IP Scope on a Samba DC
Andrew, I very much appreciate your swift reply and your expertise. I
readily admit I'm a little out of my depth here. I'm sitting here in
California at almost midnight with just the weekend to get done all I need
to do on the network and I fear this may be derailing my plans.

Samba4 AD DC Sites / Rename Default-First-Site-Name and internal DNS
Hello,
I'm running a few tests here with two locations.
site1: server-site1.gsg.local subnet 192.168.200.0/24
site2: server-site2.gsg.local subnet 192.168.190.0/24
both are connected via VPN.
I migrated an samba3 domain at server-site1 it gets
Default-First-Site-Name assigned. Then I joined the new samba4 domain
withe server-site2. Both servers work and i can join and access them

dc locator/site awareness, and samba-winbind-krb5-locator
Hi all
A couple of questions for you on domain integration:
Firstly, can someone please explain to me where/how a samba device's site info is cached? I see from a trace that when winbind starts it goes through the usual process that a windows device does (DNS query for non site-specific SRV, LDAP query/response with site name, DNS query for site-specific SRV).
- How is the site info

Using net ads user to get child domain users on Samba 4.10.7
Hi all,
I have an question about getting child domain users on Samba 4.10.7.
1. I have the command net ads search '(objectCategory=trustedDomain)' -P
and already get the info below:
objectClass: top
objectClass: leaf
objectClass: trustedDomain
cn: hardware.qsan.ad.com
distinguishedName: CN=hardware.qsan.ad.com,CN=System,DC=qsan,DC=ad,DC=com

Retain last grouping after a strsplit()
All -
I have a column of SiteNames:
SiteName
OYS-PIA2-FL-1
OYS-PIA2-LA-1
OYS-PI-LA-BB-1
OYS-PIA2-LA-10
...
[truncated]
and I want to include only the last few digits into a new column.
I tried
substr(data$SiteName, 13, 20)
but because some SiteName values are of a different length, the final
hyphen (i.e., "-") was included:
"1"
"1"
"-1"
"10"

Get Me Outta Here! Web site security issue
Hi All,
I have a CentOS 5.4 web server. I have some stuff that runs on 443.
When I hit https://<the site>
The user gets a warning saying that site identity could not be verified and the user can add an exception if they want.
How do I stop this from happing? Do I need to buy an SSL cert? Aren't these really expensive per server and I have 5 servers I would need to do this too.
