recreate/re-provision DNS db from scratch?
Hi,
Is there a way to re-initialize/re-provision DNS?
I have a working domain with 100+ users and computers etc.. I want to
preserve all those users, settings and group policies etc, only start the
DNS part from scratch.
Why? I've been having some (mysterious) issues with Samba 4 DNS since..
well.. I suppose since I started with 4.0.6 (migrated from Samba 3.x) but

Hi,
I have joined my only samba server to himself (net join -U

Now, I can see process when I enter samba-tool processes but the
processes are not be working/visibles with an "ps -aux".
The DNS service is no more working (and it's the same for the other
services : AD/time, ...)

Dear Rowland ,
Just keep in mind that the Debian RPI maintated by rasperry.org PI fellows and _not_ mainly by the Mainsteam debian
pkg maintainers, and ways behind the main distro - allmost.

Non Functioning Internal DNS - Samba4
??

Now the internal DNS fails. If I use nslookup and set the server to it, then look up any hostname I get "connection timed out; no servers could be reached". This DC is my primary and has all FSMO roles. I

I don?t recomend to use Bind 9.8.1 / 9.8.2 anymore - most distro use it but the shuold move due DLZ compile & bind bugs.
and 9.8 soon goes on end of Life see https://kb.isc.org/article/AA-01211/81/BIND-9.8.8-Release-Notes.html
