OK, it seems to be an authentication issue. At least w.r.t. the member server.
When I add the user name, it does ask me for the password and succeeds.
I don't see any difference when using IP numbers instead of host names.

Hi Tim,
This is just wild speculation: do You have different versions of Samba
(or smbclient) on the corresponding machines? I run the same on all of
my machines. I think that Kerberos is supposed to be OK. Also I hear
of possible issues with very new versions of SSSD with Samba 4.2.0rcx
due to a winbind(d) conflict.
But the sad truth is, that I lack the competence to be really helpful.

Both tests work for me. However I get the following error when
attempting against my member server

smbclient broken after update
Since a bit more than a year I run a Samba4 AD server on a Debian
testing box. During that period I did update and dist-update the
box about twice a week, and also did update and recompile Sambe,
i.e. Samba and Debian Jessie are on their latest stage. I use Bind
9.9.3 as name server, which works absolutely smooth.
But two days ago something got broken, and I am totally clueless,

time synchronization problem (using NTP)
Hi,
using SLES10 I''m unable to synchronize the time of DomU with that of Dom0. There
is a persistent offset of about 3 seconds!
Here''s a small history (not actual output):

Timer ISR: Timer went backwards [NetBSD 3.1 / Xen 2.0.7]
I''m using a NetBSD 3.1 dom0 with Xen 2.0.7 (so far as I know, the latest
supported combination for the NetBSD platform).
Linux domUs have their logs fill with messages like this:

Thanks for your reply. I had problems when updating from 4.1.16 to 4.1.17. I think it was the samba_client package
I found this:
http://www.stbsuite.com/support/virtual-training-center/nt-status-errors
But not really helpful.
Kerberos works so far but I will have a deeper into the logs.

DRS stopped working after upgrade from debian Jessie to Stretch
Hello Samba team !
I'am in a very delicate situation. After an upgrade to debian Stretch
my DRS stopped working.
I have three DCs (fichdc, fichds01, fichds02), all Debian Stretch, all
with the same problem. Everything seems to be fine except DRS.
-> File shares works
-> DNS (with bind9 DLZ) works
-> "kinit administrator" works

converting matrix in array
Hi everyone,
have a small problem trying to converting a dataset in matrix form to an
array.
Specifically: data include 3D measurement -x,y,z of 59 points in 36 objects.
They are stored as a matrix (x) of 2124 rows and 3 columns.
What I want to do is to extract each subject's dataset using an array (b).
Accordingly, I tried the following command:
b<-array(a,c(59,3,36)).
The problem is

Estimating correlation in multiple measures data
Dear R-helpers,
This may sound simple to you, but I'm a beginner in this, so please be
forgiving.
I have a following problem: two analytes were measured in patient's
blood on 4 occasions: ProteinA and ProteinB. How to correctly evaluate
correlation between ProteinA and ProteinB?
I tried:
x <- data.frame(Patient.ID=rep(1:10, each=4), Visit=rep(c(1:4),10),
ProteinA=rnorm(m=10,

For me it looks like this:
It will work, if I ask for the time on one of my DCs.
It will fail, if I ask some other ntp server.
That should give the direction for looking deeper.

upg. CentOS 7.5 to 7.6: unable to mount smb shares - samba NT domain member using ldap
Originally I posted this question at CentOS forum 20.12.2018.

Hi all,
I am not able to mount samba shares after upgrading CentOS 7.5 to 7.6. I
have been searching and trying to configure samba and winbind but no
success. I find a lot of manuals and help pages about setting samba and
winbind for machine acting as AD DC member but
