migrate from win2012srv to samba 4.1.17-Sernet-Debian-9.wheezy
I just go down in the script and found an acl called "thisserverip" with value SETIPPDC1. And this variable is used for this line : listen-on port 53 {"thisserverip", 127.0.0.1; ]; Is it not strange that the pdc1 windows server Ip is coming here? Thanks. sernet samba4 on Ubuntu
I looked at these once, Rowland. I am a novice and not wanting to run bind9 for the dns (one ADDC and three, maybe four clients) the SAMBA_INTERNAL DNS has always work fine for me in testing. These scripts were a "little too advanced" for my experience. (Not that it won't serve anyone else quite well.) Just surprised that there is so little, almost non-existent documentation for

Hi, I try to follow the instructions (https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_a_Share_Using_Windows_ACLs#File_System_ACLs_in_the_Back_End) A big screen pops up with when an attempt is made to connect to member server, then connection is granted but I am suspitious if changes can be made. Installing SerNet Debian Samba
I've got myself in a bit of a pickle trying to install the latest Samba 3.6.20-31 package from SerNet on a Debian Wheezy server. The installed Debian version of Samba was 3.6.6. It's an off-line test server, and I'm still getting to grips with Debian, so no harm done, but I'd like to know the proper procedure to install this software! What I've done is: Edited

After the classicupgrade from samba3 to sernet-samba-4.2.1 , users are not able to remote desktop anymore ( bug11061 )
guys sorry to take this thread onboard once more, but I still can't get this sorted. I have compiled the latest tarball from samba, 4.2.2 . compilation works fine and after that I am able to upgrade from samba 3 with the following command: samba-tool domain classicupgrade --dbdir=/var/lib/samba-ccdc1/dbdir/ --use-xattrs=yes --realm=ccdc.lan /etc/samba/smb-ccdc1.conf 2>&1 | tee

Samba 4.5.8-Debian User Profiles on NFS-Share
Hi Loius, thank your for the repository! I was exactly searching for this via google... Despite the fact that I can configure the services in 4.2.14 on jessie, I guess it could be wise to go for a fresh, up-to-date Version of Debian and Samba ;-) Enjoing all the options and features included. I really appreciate your work! Franz >>> L.P.H. van Belle <belle at bazuin.nl>
