each node
On each node sernet-samba/stretch,now 99:4.9.12-15 amd64 is installed

another office configured that way is working perfect ;( The load is not

help, please, troubleshooting winbind testing during setup of Samba 4 AD member server
Hello, all!
Well, third time is *not* the charm for me. (I've been through the
process 3 times with 3 different DCs).
I am trying to set up a member server, using Samba 4.1.14, and washing
out when getting to the winbind testing. I've tried ignoring the failure
and pressing on, but that didn't get anywhere.
In this instance, I have a freshly-installed, configured and functioning

sorry to bother you:
I have three AD in the domain.
They all deliver different IDs:

Hi,
just to keep you updated:
The following trick seems to work for me:
1.) I stopped winbind on the cluster
2.) I deleted the cache: "net cash flush"
Afterwards the result for "id testuser" was not quite the same like the
result on the "old fileserver"
3.) I stopped the ctdb daemon
4.) I backuped /var/lib/samba/winbindd_cache.tdb on all nodes
5.) I restared

Hi everybody,
I've searched deeply into the samba wiki and the list for some working
examples, but I cannot find my way out, I'm a kind of rough samba user
(let's say almost newbie).. so asking help here:

User and Groups Problem with ADS (Win2003) and Solaris 10
Hi,
I got samba 2.0.30b running on a Sparc machine with Solaris 10.
I installed
Kerberos 1.4.2
Openldap stable version 20051018
To compile Samba 2.0.30b with ADS
Looks like Kerberos works
kinit Administrator@MYDOMAIN.COM <mailto:Administrator@MYDOMAIN.COM> ==> works
klist ==> shows ticket
I added the server to the domain
net join -U Administrator

help, please, troubleshooting winbind testing during setup of Samba 4 AD member server
Found it! (Thanks to Louis van Belle and Rowland Penny for their guidance).
The wiki page for
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setup_a_Samba_AD_Member_Server *really*
needs a note about this to be added. It will save a lot of frustration
and wasted time for others coming behind.
The reason I say this is that a default Windows Server 2008 R2 install,
*does not provide* the necessary tools

Managing Samba4 shares from Windows "Security Tab Missing"
When I try to manage samba shares from windows, I cannot reliably get the Security Tab to show up. I have tried many reprovisions, sometimes it works, sometimes not. I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong.
How the domain is provisioned...
samba-tool domain provision \
--domain=avails \
--host-name=fs.avails.com \
--host-ip=10.2.2.1 \
--adminpass='not2forget!' \

Possible bug in authentication cache in dovecot 1.1.alpha4
Hello,
it seems that there is some bug in authentication cache code in dovecot
version 1.1.alpha4 - after login attempt with wrong password the correct
password also will fail.
I can reproduce it very easy:
$telnet 10.10.10.30 110
+OK Server. <861.2.46e6c679.jZ8QYpFmU8ZN6XIq7zPhkw==@server2>
user testuser
+OK
pass pass
+OK Logged in.
quit
+OK Logging out.
