Fix for Windows 8.1 RSAT error when creating users
I created a new Samba4 AD DC, and attempted to add users and groups from a Windows 8.1 computer using the Remote Server Administration Tools. While I was able to create groups just fine, attempting to create a user failed with the message "An Error Occurred. Contact your System Administrator." A quick Google shows that others on this list have had this and similar problems, but I

Finding distinct months using find_by_sql
Hello, I''m wondering if someone might be able to offer me a solution to the following problem that has so far stumped me. I''m trying to get the distinct months (and years) from a date field to display as a list in a view. For example, there might be a number of records stored with dates in the table ''headlines'': name date record1 21-09-2008 record2

Credential Manager problem (error 0x80090345) and older samba versions
Dear samba ppl, I have the same problem as described in this link [1] (error 0x80090345 when trying to open Credential Manager under Windows 8.1) with a machine joined to an NT4 style domain with a samba 3 DC. So far the only workaround is to uninstall the updates mentioned in the thread. The problem was fixed for samba 4 as mentioned here [2]. Is there any chance that this might be fixed for

caches_page does not follow url path
I am using lighttpd. I have a controller (headlines) with a caches_page :index. When invoked via http://0.0.0.0:3000/headlines/ I find a index.html cached in the public folder. The server did not create a headlines folder and place the cached index page within the controller directory as expected. Is there a configuration detail I need to change?

samba.org has been revised!
As some of you might have noticed, the official Samba web site [1] has been revised during the sambaXP conference [2]. The web design was revamped and a new logo has been created. Some of the related pages (e.g. the Wiki [3]) have already been adapted to the new style as well. Special thanks go to Blackbit [4] for creating the new design, to SerNet [5] for sponsoring and to Stefan Metzmacher

I don't have a windows box to try this software on, but from their website it looks like something equivalent to the XM

guidelines for version specific info on wiki pages
hi Guys, Just wondering if we should have some guidelines as to how version specific information should be handled on the wiki ? One way might be to have a version tag on each page on the top right and indicate what Versions that page is going to work with. Then in the body have a Grey bar to indicate version specific info. But this might get a bit messy. Any other ideas ? - KB --
