SAMBA 4 Member Server - Help please
Seems to be the same problem like last week. I also couldn't get a member server to run. wbinfo worked while getent didn't. Is there any detailed instruction for sssd? Tim Am 14. SAMBA 4 Member Server - Help please
Hi all, After being pointed towards the sssd service, I setup and configured it and it appears to be running just fine. I can lookup my users and groups properly now once I add their information in the UNIX tab section in AD. Thank you all to help me get where I am now. I can now continue to work and set this up. I am sure I will have more questions moving forward, but this mailing list has

I can lookup my users and groups properly now once I add their information in the UNIX tab section in AD. So you are *now* adding their info via ADUC, that will be why winbind didn't work for you. [LLVMdev] noinline
Hi, I was interested in telling the compiler not to inline a given function, and discovered that the __attribute__((noinline)) implements this using a global variable @llvm.noinline. It did not work for me initially. I noticed that @ llvm.noinline was being internalized by -internalize, dead-code-eliminated by -constmerge, causing this information not to reach the -inline pass. I am not sure if

kerberos + winbind + AD authentication for samba 4 domain member
I'm going to start with clean centos install, so I might as well use some additional guidelines, thank You. When You run kinit, does Your user have ticket already? What I noticed is that when user has a ticket already, kinit works fine, uses as default principal the one from ticket. Can you do kdestroy - then kinit? Also, on Fedora, did You install samba from source or from repo's RPM?

comparisons
I converted the 128kbps tom.mp3 file into a .wav and then used oggenc -m 2 to laterally encode it to 128kbps tommy.ogg format. I noticed that it gets very close to the size of an mp3, great job guys. Then I got to thinking that maybe it could be compressed further with gzip so I tried it. I also gzipped the mp3 to compare and it looks like the mp3 gzips better but gzipping the ogg file will get

getent doesnt't list group
Hi to all, I have installed Samba+winbind+kerberos on a Ubuntu OS, configured authentication to our ads domain as member I can list user and group using wbinfo, if I use getent I have the ADS user but not the ads group (only local group). The problem is that samba does not recognize group in the filesystem and assign a wrong gid to the objects. I tried to change winbind separator to \ or / but

Samba as member of multi domain AD (nss/pam)
Hi list, I'm looking for someone out there, using samba as a member server in a multi-domain Active Directory forest (maybe even with nss_/pam_winbind for unix users/groups). It took quite a long time to get things working at all here, and we're still not really comfortable with our current solution (especially the unix nss/pam part). I'd be glad if someone out there was interested

winbind: How to map Administrator to "root" on AD member server
Hi, I am running a pure Samba 4.1+ AD environment (on the server side). There is one AD DC running Samba 4.1 and two member servers (running Samba 4.1 as well). I have provisioned the domain with support for the rfc2307 AD schema. On the DC the UIDs are assigned automatically to AD users by Samba, which is great. I am also storing the assigned UIDs in the Active Directory as uidNumber (gidNumber

Linux SSO with samba4?
Hi, I think it is great that samba4 has a single sign on solution for Windows platforms and it seems to work well too, but I am wondering is it possible to do the same for a Linux environment? I have been studying how to implement single sign on using the Ubuntu way through this document: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SingleSignOn and I am wondering if I can do the same with samba4 where the
