Bug found in Samba 4 ?
Dear Ricky,
Yes, in my original post, below, I gave some details about smb.conf, but
to summarize:
* I am using Samba 4.1.11.
* server role = classic primary domain controller
* domain logons = yes
* domain master = yes
* When I define a fixed-name as logon script in smb.conf, it works :
* logon script = employee.bat
* But if I try either %g.bat or %G.bat, or even

Samba "%G" replacement not working in "Logon script" ?
Dear Ricky,
Thanks a lot for your answer. But I still have two problems:
1. I am not using samba as AD DC but as PDC.
2. What I would need is the primary group... Do you thinks %WORKGROUP%
could work ?
3. And should I use %WORKGROUP% in smb.conf or in batch login script...
Thanks a lot in advance for your help...

Samba "%G" replacement not working in "Logon script" ?
Dear all,
I experience now a strange bug with Samba 4.1.11 :
When I define a fixed-name as logon script in smb.conf, it works :
logon script = employee.bat
But if I try either %g.bat or %G.bat, or even "%G.bat", it doesn't work
:
* logon script = %g.bat
* logon script = %G.bat
* logon script = "%G.bat"
In the logs, there was a message showing that Samba was

Sorry for not replying earlier Dennis, but its been a bit crazy the last
week or two with the holidays. Can you explain more about your
configuration setup (smb.conf would be handy)?
Thanks,
Ricky

Hi Louis,
Thanks for your help. I'm still investigating on it, but sadly i cannot
upgrade to 4.11 as those servers cannot reach external repositories for
security reasons (those servers

DM: samba 4.5 -> 4.8, guest access and machine account access troubles.
I've just upgraded my DM from samba 4.5 to 4.8, using luois repos
(also, debian jessie -> stretch).
I'm experimenting some troubles on some shares, seems that both guest
access and 'machine account' access does not work.
The share is rather simple:

Dennis, if you are running samba as an AD DC, you will need to use the new
variable names %ACCOUNTNAME% and %WORKGROUP%.

Weird permissions problem
Hello,
I'm having a permissions problem I just can't quite figure out. I can not access
any directory that is owned by my userid if the permissions are 700. If I change them
to 770, with my default group on the directory, then I can access the directory.
This was working fine with Fedora 19 for several years, and it broke when I upgraded
to Fedora 22, and still broken with F23.

How to copy roaming profiles to new server ? ("Group policy client service failed. The logon access is denied")
Dear all,
We have perfectly working roaming profiles on Samba 3.3.10 (SuSE) with
Windows 7 clients. We configured our new server with same domain name,
Samba 4.1.11 (Debian).
On the new server, for newly created profiles, it works perfectly, we
can login, logout, profiles are created and saved. But if we want to
copy an existing profile from current server to the new one, it's

Snom default configuration is SRTP enabled.
You should disable the SRTP from the phone web GUI configuration

No sound with internal calls depending on which phones
Dear all,
I have a very strange problem :
* external calls work perfectly,
* internal calls between some phones too,
* but internal call between two similar phones don't work !!! (Snom 710)
When we have sound, there are no errors in asterisk. When we do not have
sound, there is the following error :
* [Nov 10 17:51:47] ERROR[21480]: chan_sip.c:28306 setup_srtp: No SRTP

Windows Seven
Dear all,
I am sure this question was asked many times, but I read that Windows
Seven should work with Samba 3.2
We have SLES 11 (SuSE / Novell) and the version provided is smbd version
3.2.7-11.6-2057-SUSE-CODE11
Is it possible to join domain with Windows Seven to this version or is
it incompatible ?
I also read this, but it's not clear if 3.2.7 would also work or not ?
