dsgetdcname failed: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Hello all. I have a Samba 3.5.4 server that we're attempting to join to an existing Windows 2008 ADS. Doing "net ads join" seems to go ok, and a follow up "net -P ads testjoin" says we're OK. However... at this point, doing "wbinfo -u" or "wbinfo -g" returns no data (the programs exit with erro code 0, and no output). Attempting to log into a

Confused about what I am seeing with domain names - --getdcname fails for ad server
Should I expect to see when I run wbinfo --getdcname=domain it return a domain controller for an ad server? It does return a server name for domain_network, the non-ad server. Failing to join an ADS domain
Hi, I am trying to join a microsoft AD domain using RHEL 5.3. I tried with the default Samba release (provided by redhat) with no luck. I've just upgraded to Samba 3.3.6 (using http://ftp.sernet.de/pub/samba/recent/rhel/5/x86_64/) but it still fails. The AD domain is "example.domain.org" and has its own DNS servers. My /etc/resolv.conf file redirects DNS queries to the AD DC DNS

PDC with 2 NICs problem
Hello Samba List, I'm running a Samba 3.0.22 PDC on Solaris 9. Things got a bit peculiar when I added a 2nd network interface. The two subnets are a primary network that carries all the client traffic and a tape-backup/admin network that is not accessible to any clients, ie. aaa.bbb.ccc.241 - bge0 - primary network (address suppressed) 192.168.254.254 - bge1 - admin/backup network

Question about KDC Resolution with Samba
I'm running a debug script from this site (Dated 16 Aug 2019, created and maintained by Rowland Penny and Louis van Belle). The script obtains the Linux server DOMAIN by running "hostname -d" which returns "mycorp.com". Next the script runs nslookup -type=SRV _kerberos._tcp.mycorp.com which fails ** server can't find _kerberos._tcp.mycorp.com: NXDOMAIN and the

net ads join fails

In order to veriify if it is indeed SELINUX, what happens when you use 'setenforce 0' ? Usuallh , you need use_samba_home_dirs boolean to be enabled. Permission denied for home, even when it's 777
I cannot access home samba share from windows. Windows client displays a permission denied error. The problem is not Linux permissions for the user directory, permission is still denied when permissions are to 777. I don't think the problem is selinux, because no denials appear in any logs. I don't think it's an extended attributes issue from xfs, because I don't see any attributes
