Here are the results I got: stat /disk succeeds open /disk for reading succeeds readdir (getdents) for /disk fails EIO open /disk/noexist for reading fails ENOENT open /disk/noexist for writing

Moving a computer from a down domain to a new domain
I had been running a samba server, the AMAHI F12 distro, that has samba 3.4.9. It ran well enough, but I was planning on replacing it with ClearOS. Well monday night I lost my server harddrive, so now it is crunch time to update/upgrade. I think I have ClearOS configured properly, it is running samba 3.6.10 (Redhat 6.4 based). So far I have tried to add two of my XP systems to the new

Exploring Folders
Hi, my company develops Windows applications and we are trying to get them to work correctly under Wine. We have two outstanding issues 1. Toolbars - the generic icons do not list (ie STD_DELETE). Currently posted under Bugzilla 2. We provide menu links to open a folder using the Win32 API command ShellExecute(hwndDlg, NULL, szFolder, NULL, NULL, SW_SHOWNORMAL); (szFolder is the folder

Samba 3.5 to 3.6
Reading : http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_3.6_Features_added/changed it seems there are options not to check having consistant SIDs. Otherwise, I used the solution with : net setlocalsid and it worked for me. SID of member server in Samba domain (smbldap_search_domain_info: NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL)
I have a domain with Samba 3 acting as PDC, and using LDAP (passdb backend = ldapsam). I now wanted to add a second Samba 3 machine as a simple file server. I get errors with getdomainsid and getlocalsid, so there is obviously still something wrong with my config. The PDC runs Samba 3.5.6 on Debian Squeeze. Sid queries return: # net getdomainsid SID for local machine MY_PDC_HOST is:

Flood of REGISTERs - attack?
I'm currently receiving over 200 SIP REGISTER requests per second from a machine apparently in Italy, host97-239-149-62.serverdedicati.aruba.it. This has continued for several days, and abuse at staff.aruba.it are unresponsive. I've had a couple of similar incidents recently, the others originating from uk2.net. I have an ADSL connection and responding to these REGISTERS was consuming all

smbd's running wild in Solaris x86 malloc...
Greetings! We've got a neat little problem running Samba 1.9.18p8 on Solaris x86 2.5.1 and AFS on a dual-processor Dell PowerEdge 2200 w/ 128M RAM. The machine has 11M of free real memory and 417M of free swap according to "top". Every once in a while (there goes one now...) an "smbd" process will attempt to consume all available processing time it can. We recompiled

Dendrogram for many cases
Dear All, I have a cluster object based on a dissimilarity matrix from about 1,100 cases and wish to know whether anyone can think of any tips to display some form of graphical output which would give some sense of the similarity between the cases. A standard form of dendrogram would be fine, but with so many cases the dendrogram on the standard devices (R-2.20 on NT4) is very compact
