relocated tmp dir
As I said, the original binaries. I need to know if I can override this
error with a smb.conf directory directive, just as you can override other
compiled-in directories.

Can all of the compiled-in filepaths below be overrdden in smb.conf? I
can't find documentation for the required smb.conf equivilents. If someone

help compiling samba
I'm compiling samba-3.6.22 for android with the sourcery arm-2010q1
compiler. The compile itself goes fine, but when I copy smbd to my device
it's not recognized as a binary. I get the error
sh: ./smbd: No such file or directory
file under linux tells me:
smbd: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, ARM, EABI5 version 1 (SYSV),
dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.16, not

static compile
Grr why is this so hard? Compiling samba-3.6.24 for android using the
sourcery toolchain. Dropbear and busybox went w/o a hitch. I've googled the
hell out of this, nothing I've found has helped.
Here's my config:
./configure --without-krb5 \
--without-ldap \
--without-ads \
--disable-cups \
--enable-swat=no \
--enable-static=yes \
--disable-shared \

ps aux | grep smbd
I recently compiled samba-3.2.15 for a Raspberry Pi V2 and while it seems
to be working fine, when I ps aux | grep smbd I'm shown two or three
successively numbered smbd jobs. The smbd log isn't showing anything weird,
what's up with this?

Everything is fine. smbd create child processes, like when users or

Quiet Backtrace in RSpec
I''m using RSpec on Rails and would like to clean up the backtraces, so I
went looking for an RSpec equivalent to ThoughtBot''s Quiet Backtrace
gem<http://thoughtbot.com/projects/quietbacktrace>.
I found Spec::Runner::QuietBacktraceTweaker in the RDOCS, but I can''t figure
out how to use it. Can I add something to spec_helper.rb that will

/tmp does not exist or is not a directory
Hi All,
[2005/04/11 11:26:58, 0] smbd/service.c:make_connection_snum(620)
'/tmp' does not exist or is not a directory, when connecting to [IPC$]
This wierd and wacky thing has just started for no apparent reason
no upgrades were done no system mods were performed, the file server is
just never played with except to add shares, testparm says all OK.
This also happens when a user

Specify attr_protected
This is kind of a two part question.
Question One: I want to be sure that an Order model is protecting
sensitive attributes from mass assignment.
The example looks like this:
describe Order do
it "should protect total attribute from mass assignment" do
@order = Order.new(:total => 0.05)
@order.total.should_not == 0.05
end
end
And the code to implement it:

'/tmp' does not exist or permission denied ...: /tmp has 777 permission
Not sure what caused it. It must be some change to permissions. I know
I changed the root password with passwd and changed it back afterwards
when problems started. I know for sure I didn't change a thing to the
samba config. No firewall running atm.
This morning I did smbpasswd as root and set it (to be sure) to same
passwd as the original one. But I don't think this matters anymore. I

TextMate Sidebar
Hey David,
I just watched the RubyConf recording of your RSpec session and noticed that
you''re using a modified version of TextMate that uses a sidebar instead of a
project drawer. Where did you find that mod?

Outside-In with RSpec on Rails
I just read ''Mocks Aren''t Stubs'' and was intrigued by the notion of
''outside-in'' TDD.
As a Rails developer, I''m curious if others are employing this method
when developing Rails applications using RSpec. Is it common practice
(or even practical) to drive the development of a Rails app by
starting with view specs, then controller specs, then

alias :calling :lambda
Sprinkling my examples with ''lambda'' has always seemed like a bit of a
wart to me. I''ve gotten into the habit of adding ''alias :calling
:lambda'' to my spec suites. My examples then look like:
calling { Foo }.should raise_error
calling { Bar }.should_not raise_error
Is there a reason that RSpec core has chosen not to make exception
expectations more

expect_render twice in views
I found this:
controller.expect_render(:partial => ''thing'', :collection => things).once
but I am trying to expect_render twice in my view spec:
template.expect_render(:partial => ''order_details'').twice
This doesn''t work as the template.expect_render call seems to be
returning an array. Is it possible to expect the rendering of a
partial

Use of Second Monitor Question
In teaching I'd like to be able to display a R-graphics window on a wall
projection display keeping the R-console on the computer monitor. And so I
ask---
Is there a way to move a graphics window out of the Rgui window to a second
monitor leaving the R Console window in the Rgui window on the first monitor?
Either a Windows or Linux solution would be just fine.

asterisk-addons OS X
Has anyone had any luck getting the addon's to compile
under OS X? I have been able to get 1.06 to build and
run great, but I really want to get the
cdr_addon_mysql.so to enable mysql writing.
When I try to compile I get a bunch of Undefined
symbols and I have tried adding everything to my path.
I've got mysql_devel, etc.
I have posted this to the Mac Asterisk mailing list

auth.conf & namespaceauth.conf : which files belong on the master , and client?
I''m trying to wrap my head around these files...
do both of them need to reside on the client and master?
are there any docs that describe these files and what all the option/
sections are and what they do?
Thanks all....
