Samba 4.2.0rc4 fails to start up
I am trying to see if Samba 4.2.0rc4 will run on a Solaris 10 i386 system.
After getting it to build, startup fails. Starting it up as
smbd -i -d 10
The output indicates that everything is starting normally until the
following is output:

messaging_dgm_init: messaging_dgm_create_lockfile failed: Invalid argument

NT_STATUS_INTERNAL_ERROR from RPC server on samba 4.5.8 AD DC
Hi,
I have a samba 4.5.8 AD DC (debian 9.1 package) which is having problems
with RPC requests. This DC has been updated from the wheezy-backports
package (4.1.17) via the jessie package (4.2.14) but I'm not sure if RPC
worked immediately before the upgrade either since most of the time it
only serves LDAP and krb5.
Connecting using RSAT from windows gives "RPC Server

Cannot login to Samba server remotely
Hi, can't seem to login to Samba Server using notebook. OS is FreeBSD
10.3. Samba Version is 4.6.6
Connect to the remote Samba server using L2TP/IPSec connection. When
trying to login it's not accepting the correct credentials.
When ssh'ing to the server can login without any issue:
# smbclient -Uusername //server/share
Enter SERVERNAME\username's password:
Domain=[DOMAINNAME]

Samba 4.8 RODC not working
Hi Rowland,
I have no homes share. As far as I know I should not have that share on a DC ..?
Regarding the security consideration for a DMZ zone, what do you suggest instead of putting a RODC in it ?
Note : Yes I can ping DC, there is no routing / firewalling issue (validated).
Thanks

Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain '<EXAMPLE.COM>' over rpc: The object name is not found.
Hello,
I've been trying to add a new server to my Samba 4 Active directory, but I've been failing so far. I'm running the command "net ads join -k" and it fails with "Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain '<EXAMPLE.COM>' over rpc: The object name is not found." The answers I found so far imply a problem with the RPC service, but

Samba 4.2.0rc4 build failure
I am not quite certain where to report this, so I will start here.
I am trying to do a test build of Samba 4.2.0rc4 on a Solaris 10 i386
machine. I ran configure as follows:
#! /bin/sh
CFLAGS="-O3 -I/opt/local/include" \
LDFLAGS="-R/opt/local/samba4/lib:/opt/local/samba4/lib/private:/opt/local/lib \
-L/opt/local/lib -liconv -lintl" \
./configure

Samba 4.2.0rc4 build failure
Should I file a bug at bugzilla.samba.org for problems with a release
candidate?
