Create Organizational units (OU) from Unix.
Hello, Is there a way to create an OU (in the AD sence) from Unix with the samba tools ? I have made a script that create all my users and groups (for a school). But I still need to create the OUs manually from windows with RSAT. Thanks. Baptiste.

Automating creation of OUs, security groups and GPOs, in Samba AD DC
Hello, I'm trying to automate the creation of several small samba AD DCs, each with a different domain. Samba tool works fine for creating a brand new domain, but I haven't seen any functionality for manipulating the directory structure of a new domain. Fwd: Migrating server
Hi Gruss, At this stage there is only one server, running 3.6.25 on Ubuntu12.04. The plan to get LDAP to work on this one. Then add the second server 4.x and the promote it to BDC and then demote this one. Just a side info, we didn't want to go tdbsam in both as I read it breaks the domain trust. Hi, On RSAT , we can see that there are some extra fields for users account like description, office, phone number or email address. I already have hundreds of user accounts in Samba AD but these extra fields have not been fed. I would like to import in particular the email address for each existing users, however I don't find a way to do that with a samba command line. Is there a way to

Extending Samba-4 Schema to get Microsoft LAPS working
Hi, I am using the command "ldbmodify -H path_to_sam_ldb automount_classes.ldif --option="dsdb:schema update allowed"=true" as given in the wiki. / / Using the above method I was able to add the two attributes. But I am not able to add these attributes to computers class. Hence looking for help to create the ldif file to add these two attributes to computer class. Best

Rename Samba 4 Users
Hi guys! Do you know if there is a away to rename a list of samba 4 user accounts ? I need to change a list of 2000 users from "login name" to a "login number" i would not like to do this one by one. I know that in windows server i can do using powershell script, but it doesn´t work with samba. If you have any ideia on how to do this i appreciate. Thanks!! --
