Hi Dirk. Ok, now im ready with the debian packages for 4.10, this could make your life more easy. I've not tested this but should work, you could try this. Install a debian 9 server as minimal as possible, so choose expert install, only install ssh server, nothing else. Now in this order, start building the armhf samba 4.10 packages This should be easy todo now since i've match the

Hi I want to build samba-4.10.0 for SUSE openLeap 15.1. Config and make works fine but make install sucks: ./configure --prefix=/usr --localstatedir=/var --sysconfdir=/etc --libdir=/usr/lib64 --libexecdir=/usr/lib64 --with-cachedir=/var/lib/samba --with-lockdir=/var/lib/samba/lock --with-logfilebase=/var/log/samba --with-modulesdir=/usr/lib64/samba --disable-rpath --disable-rpath-install

Samba building is broken when some libraries are specified to be built-in to binaries !
Ok. But to the time in a short term period is there is way to make building successfull ? May be some temporal solution ? One more, I need to build-in to binaries: libreplace,libwinbind-client,libwbclien, that is replace,winbind-client,wbclient "targets" while building all regarding configure options specified below: --prefix=/usr \ --enable-fhs \

[PATCH] Overlinking issues
Hi, please find attached two patches (against current git master) that fix overlinking issues in the pkg-config files and "locally", respectively. The first patch is originally due to Brad Smith, see the commit message for details. Here is some general information regarding overlinking in case anyone is wondering: http://wiki.mandriva.com/en/Overlinking Ulrich --------------

[PATCH 1/2] Fix pkg-config files to avoid overlinking
Libraries that are used internally by libFLAC(++) but are not part of their API should be listed in pkg-config "private" clauses. Otherwise executables that are linked dynamically against libFLAC(++) will have unneeded direct dependencies (overlinking). Based on a patch by Brad Smith from https://sourceforge.net/p/flac/bugs/397/ that I updated to only include ogg if libFLAC is

Porting CTDB to Solaris
We wanted to try out clustered Samba on a pair of small OpenSolaris/ Intel boxes. But after downloading the CTDB source from the Samba git repository, I discovered that it won't build on Solaris -- the configure script supports only Linux and AIX. Is there a Solaris port for CTDB, or is somebody working on one? (If not, I might take a crack at it; would it be a straightforward port?)

Problems running autoconf on Solaris 10 Update 4
Sorry for the double post, I've been doing some more looking into this, and it seems like this is a separate problem of more general interest than my original AD issue. My understanding is that the repository does not maintain a configure script in the source directory. Packaged releases of the samba code include one, but if you're trying to build from the repo, you need to do it
