Filesystem does not support posix ACLs
Yeah, you will need to do that. Even for the supported default fileserver, the module we use in testing 'vfs_fake_acls' is only provided to developers, so that will be the easiest route to start. When we eventually remove it, come back and we will find a way to keep this working for you. Andrew Bartlett On Thu, 2019-11-14 at 07:59 +0000, Ghassan Elrayah via samba wrote: > Thanks a

Filesystem does not support posix ACLs
Thanks a lot for the reference how to make the regtest. One last question please, if understand this correctly, the --use-ntvfs isnot available by default when installing the Debian package, so I need to compile samba with --with-ntvfs-fileserver to make the option available? programming libsmbclient
hi all, I have a strange problem using the libsmbclient api.. retrieving or stating files named with percents in is for some of them impossible. Example: a file located at "smb://test/test/%7C2.txt" cannot be retrieved with my code, smbc_open fails with the code NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_INVALID. I am not sure but, url encoding/decoding that would escape strings with "percent"

Samba 4.7.x IOWAIT / load average
Hi, I want to report a strange problem with samba 4.7.x and IO wait / CPU usage. I am using linux (archlinux, kernel 4.14.2) and encounter a very strange bug with only samba 4.7.x (from 4.7.0 to last 4.7.4). With these versions CPU usage and IO WAIT is very high with a single CIFS client with very low transfert (about 1MB/s). I rollback to 4.6.9 to 4.6.12 and no problem with these versions.

Trouble managing ACLs from Windows
Hello list, following the guidance from here (https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_a_Share_Using_Windows_ACLs) I have set up a file server which is member of a Samba 4.6.9 AD domain. I have created ACLs using a Windows client with a domain admin account. While I have no issues with some folders, the server denies access to others to users that should have access by means of group

Samba 4 - ISO-8859-15 filenames not listed while browsing
Hello, I have an issue with a german application that generates files with iso-8859-15 encoded filenames. I have 2 Linux Suse servers, both connected to the same NAS filesystem, and sharing it via Samba. "unix charset" in smb.conf set to default utf-8 LC_CTYPE & LANG locale are set to en_US.UTF-8 - First server is Samba-3.6.3 (SLES11 SP4, kernel 3.0.101-107-default) : those

kerberos + winbind + AD authentication for samba 4 domain member
Hello, I'm setting up AD user logins for centos 7.4 box. I've almost managed to do everything the way I want and the way I think it should be, but I'm missing last piece:   For ssh access I read parts of the https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/OpenSSH_Single_sign-on Most docs recommend using setting in smb.conf: winbind use default domain = no that means that all domain users have
