Exposing home hosted services on internet with tinc
Hi Andrê, So by nodes I assume you mean the "boxes". I would suggest each "box" gets it's own tinc node(with a static ip) and then on the server it should be a matter of pointing at the ip address of the appropriate box tinc ip address. I've done this myself with WireGuard and it works great. On Mon, Nov 25, 2019 at 7:14 AM André Rodier <andre at rodier.me>

Post login scripts environment
Dear Dovecot users, I am running Dovecot 2.2.27 on Debian Stretch, no issue so far. I wonder if there is a way to pass the remote IP address, in an environment variable, in the post login script. My Post login scripts are working well, except that when the server is accessed through a webmail (Roundcube or SOGo), the remote IP address is systematically 127.0.0.1. The other question I have is,

wireguard what do you guys tinc?
Hello everybody, I saw Guus already had contact with Jason over email. What do you guys tinc of wireguards, are there advantages? Jason seems to have a good grip of what he is talking about. https://fosdem.org/2017/schedule/event/wireguard/attachments/slides/1675/export/events/attachments/wireguard/slides/1675/wireguard_slides.pdf https://fosdem.org/2017/schedule/event/wireguard/ Kind

Improving packets/sec and data rate - v1.0.24
Hi Jared, I've seen the same while testing on digital ocean, I think it's the context switching that happens when sending a packet. I've done some testing with wireguard and that has a lot better performance but it's still changing quite a lot and only does a subset of what tinc does so probably not a stable solution. how to pick cipher for AES-NI enabled AMD GX-412TC SOC tincd at 100% CPU
Hello everybody, First a big thanks for tinc-vpn I am still using it next to wireguard and openvpn. I am having a setup where the tinc debian appliance is at 100% cpu load doing about 7.5MB/s. Compression = 9 PMTU = 1400 PMTUDiscovery = yes Cipher = aes-128-cbc How can I pick a cipher that is the fasted for my CPU and don't create a CPU bottleneck at 100%. Kind regards, Jelle de Jong

SMTPUTF8 support
Andr?, are you quite sure you have it working? In this thread someone from Open-Xchange stated that no, Dovecot doesn?t have SMTPUTF8 support implemented, and the same response was given by another Dovecot developer last September (it ?is being considered? was the answer then, see https://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2018-September/112887.html). I am using LMTP to deliver mail to Dovecot from

hosting emails at home
Hello Mike, Yes, I am using a static IP address, but in theory, you could use a dynamic one. Nothing technically would prevent email exchanges between two boxes, as long as the SPF records are up to date and the DKIM is properly setup. Unfortunately, some ISPs are simply blacklisting full range of private IP addresses just because they are not officials / commercials. Kind regards, Andr? On

hosting emails at home
Hello everyone, I have been using Postfix and Dovecot for my personal emails for years. After being tired of reinstalling my personal mail server many times, I am currently writing some Ansible scripts to do it automatically. I obviously checked the other projects, and did not found anything close to what I am looking for, so I am implementing it now. The final goal is to have a box that once

hosting emails at home
I have dovecot postfix setup on my home server as well. I use a virtual server in the cloud as my mx record and mail relay and have my home record on dynamic dns. It's really effective. Improving packets/sec and data rate - v1.0.24
Hi, We've been running tinc for a while now but, have started hitting a bottleneck where the number of packets/sec able to be processed by our Tinc nodes is maxing out around 4,000 packets/sec. Right now, we are using the default cipher and digest settings (so, blowfish and sha1). I've been testing using aes-256-cbc for the cipher and seeing ~5% increases across the board. Each Tinc node

I have a Virtual folder with all emails, and when I run a doveadm index, I have an error if I don't index real folders first. Example: doveadm -v index -u 'andre rodier' 'Search/*' => Panic: file solr-connection.c: line 416 (solr_connection_select):
