Bug#785187: xen-hypervisor-4.5-amd64: Option ucode=scan is not working
Package: xen-hypervisor-4.5-amd64 Version: 4.5.0-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, according to the documentation the option ucode=scan should tell XEN to look for a microcode update in an uncompressed initrd. While I don?t use the Debian kernel the tools to generate the initrd are part of Debian. The command ?cpio -i < /boot/initrd.img-4.0.2-Dom0? creates the directory structure

[PATCH nbdkit] python: Drop support for Python 2.
This patch proposes to drop support for Python 2 in nbdkit. Rather than abruptly drop it everywhere, my proposal is that we point people to nbdkit 1.14 (the current stable version) if they want to continue with Python 2 plugins, while gently reminding them of the upcoming Python 2.7 end of life announcement. Libnbd never supported Python 2. Libguestfs in theory supports Python 2 but I dropped

NUT not recognising Mini-box OpenUPS 2
Hi Charles, Thanks for your reply. So the Jessie or stretch versions will work then since those are 2.7.2 and 2.7.4... I will have to update my sources.list and follow this? https://backports.debian.org/Instructions/ Will give it a go later and update either way. Switch mode three-node routing problem
Dear tinc community, I am using tinc in switch mode. I have three nodes. Two nodes reside on routers, vpn-eth is bridged with internal lan, each router has several machines connected to it's internal lan. Third node is the roadwarrior - "endpoint" linux PC. When the roadwarrior is off - everything works perfectly, machines on both sides can communicate without a problem in any

Possible recent bug disables sound in wine - Ubuntu Studio
I have sound problems in Ubuntu Studio, starting yesterday. These may be caused by a Ubuntu bug, but I wanted to run them by wine users and see if anyone else is having a similar problem. My configuration: I use Ubuntu Studio. I installed it clean this morning, with default options. Then I purged pulseaudio (because pulseaudio does not work with wine) asoundconf list shows the following

Throughput on KVM guest - ideas for making it faster
Hi all, thanks for making Tinc available - it works well and I managed to get a decent configuration going in only a few hours, great :) I am building a VPN for my cloud servers (hosted at DigitalOcean, they use Linux and KVM). I am on Ubuntu 12.04 with Kernel 3.0.8-36, and tinc is at version 1.0.16. From a functional point of view, everything works like a charm! But I am wondering, if there is

icecast/libxslt compile error
Wondering if anyone else is having this problem compiling the latest version in CVS. autogen.sh runs fine, configure runs fine, make fails with the following: gcc -DPACKAGE=\"icecast\" -DVERSION=\"2.0\" -DHAVE_DLFCN_H=1 -DHAVE_IPV6=1 -DSTDC_HEADERS=1 -DHAVE_STDINT_H=1 -DCHUID=1 -DCHROOT=1 -I. -I. -I./net -I./thread -I./avl -I./httpp -I./log -I./timing -g -O20

Multicast and Router mode
Hi, I have seen http://www.tinc-vpn.org/pipermail/tinc-devel/2010-October/000473.html and so tried out for myself to see if multicast would work in tinc using routing mode. I'm using tinc 1.0.19. My test involved sending a ping out on 224.1.1.1 (as 224.0.0.0/24 is a special case), and while I could see the traffic reaching the other tinc daemons, it never seemed to go out to the local

Some observations on live migration & solution solicitation
Hello, I am now testing XEN live migration on 3 physical hosts with XEN 4.0.1 pvops Ubuntu 10.10 (2.6.35-22). The kernel is compiled and built with default selections plus the support for ext4 file system as well as the support for network file system server. The three hosts are connected by one D-link gigabit switch (DGS-2205). I find that: 1) If the 3 hosts are booted about the same time, the

Improving packets/sec and data rate - v1.0.24
I once filed this issue and did an investigation on high CPU load on cloud instances that might be relevant to this topic: https://github.com/gsliepen/tinc/issues/110 If I remember correctly I found that AWS EC2 instances have this problem less than DigitalOcean instances. On bare metal machines with tinc 1.0 and aes-128-cbc, I can get 90% of gigabit line speed over tinc. On 17/05/17 19:17,
