Interpretation of hypothesis tests for mixed models
My question concerns the logic behind hypothesis tests for fixed-effect terms in models fitted with lme. Suppose the levels of Subj indicate a grouping structure (k subjects) and Trt is a two-level factor (two treatments) for which there are several (n) responses y from each treatment and subject combination. If one suspects a subject by treatment interaction, either of the following models seem

linear mixed model question
Hello, I wanted to fit a linear mixed model to a data that is similar in terms of design to the 'Machines' data in 'nlme' package except that each worker (with triplicates) only operates one machine. I created a subset of observations from 'Machines' data such that it looks the same as the data I wanted to fit the model with (see code below). I fitted a model in

Help on a Nat To Nat soluction - tinc servers won't ping remote clients
Guus, Thank you for your help (a)>>You said:- First, if you are already using "ip" to assign an address..... Why should I use "ip route" instead of "route add..." Surely both write same to the Routing table? (b) My problem was, that Tinc servers could not ping remote clients, whereas clients could ping successfully across VPNWhen pinging Client to Client

barplot plotting problem
Hi, Is there any equivalent of type="n" when constructing barplots which will still construct the axes (plot=F, as it says doesn' plot anything at all). Alternatively I tried setting col="white" and border="white" but the border command does not seem to be operational. True?? Any other ideas? What I'm actually trying to do is construct vertical abline()'s

OpenVPN forwarding?
I am looking at terminating a OpenVPN tunnel on my shorewall box, but selectivly forward incoming traffic from the VPN tunnel to various hosts on my LOC-zone. Is this doable? Or need I set up OpenVPN tunnels that terminates on the LOC-hosts in question directly? (Or rather: Which page on the web site have I neglected to read _this_ time?) Happy new year to one and all! .

Problem with connecting another subnet
Hello Peter, Your question is similar to my recent question, and I have a similar Ping problem. But yours, with two Tinc networks, is more complex than mine. All I can say, and I hope it helps, is that in my case I have found my Ubuntu Tinc Server nodes do not like being specified as a address on the same network as the local LANsSo I have a specific network for the Tinc Server nodes, and in this

Only 8kHz recorded after disallowing all but G722 codec on inbound
We want to record inbound channels at 16kHz, but send only 8kHz to our peers. I've set our default profile in sip.conf to disallow all but g722, and the peers disallow all but ulaw. We have a proxy in front of Asterisk that is configured to disallow all but G722 also. My test calls show inbound to the proxy is recorded at 16kHz, inbound in Asterisk is only 8kHz, and the peers receive 8kHz. So

pre-roll ads and log file (Philipp Schafft)
Thank you Philipp, Your answers are very clear. We understand the difference between the wall clock time (server side) and the playback time. Just one more point. You wrote that the "into file" is sent to the listener before the listener is attached to the actual stream. If the server would take 20 seconds to send the "into file" and if the listener only remains connected 5

pxelinux stopped working
Hello. Some time ago, everything worked for me. But now it is very strange, it does no more work (using exactly the same setup) Do you have any idea how to find out what's wrong? Here is my situation: I am trying to boot over PXE. TFTP server is running. DHCP server is running from the same machine. Both by dnsmasq. TFTP server has the following files and directories:

Problem with connecting another subnet (Peter Thurner)
Peter, I think I agree with your answers to my comments. But it is so difficult to track the questions and answers when written! I've created a network diagram of my setup, and it may help!I'll attached the PDF to this email, but it might get stripped. If so, do email me directly. John   1. Samba+CUPS+Driver autodownload
Hi, I'm trying to get Samba to offer the Adobe driver automatically for the two printers I have set up with CUPS. I have all of the necessary files plucked out of the Adobe Postscript Windows driver package, but I'm hitting the problem when I come to run "cupsaddsmb -v ..." that the "rpcclient adddrivers" command always fails with NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL. The drivers

status of msp430?
Hello, I have a user asking about msp430 support for Zig. When they try to target msp430, this error is triggered: if (target_machine->addPassesToEmitFile(MPM, dest, ft)) { *error_message = strdup("TargetMachine can't emit a file of this type"); return true; } I tried using clang alone: clang -c add.c -target msp430-unknown int add(int

Help on a Nat To Nat soluction - tinc servers won't ping remote clients
Thank you, Parke and Guus. I have now understood and got it working. Because of my beginner belief, I assumed that the tinc vpn end points needed to be on the same network. I have now discovered that the tinc vpn IP end points addresses can be arbitrary, and different! So I have set the end points to be local to the LAN they connect, and added on each tinc server a dev route to ensure
