Sign/verify data with ed25519 keys of a tinc 1.1 host
My intention was to sign the content of export-all with the nodes' public key, which would require the corresponding private key to verify. Problem with tinc.log and logrotate.
Hi everyone again. I run tinc with the following command: /usr/sbin/tincd -d1 --logfile=/var/log/tinc.log That creates the file "/var/log/tinc.log" correctly and reports into it. Well, because I want to have a log file by day, I have created a logrotate file (/etc/logrotate.d/tinc) that contains the following lines: ----------------------------------------- /var/log/tinc.log {

Large scale tinc tests
Hello. I wonder if someone here performe such large scale tinc-vpn tests.. There are platforms like Imunes or CORE to do generic Ethernet and IP testing and routing, but I found that at least on Imunes it is problematic to start TAP iface on vimage on FreeBSD (at least 4.11 with I use). To fix that, I think about coding in BSD NetGraph support to tinc. But first I need to do testing if actualy

With pleasure we announce the release of tinc version 1.1pre13. Please note that although tinc 1.1pre13 is backwards compatible with tinc 1.0.x, it is NOT compatible with tinc 1.1pre1 through 1.1pre10. -- Met

What if two tinc daemons received the same Subnet but with different weight?
Two tinc networks/daemons, and received same subnet from the two daemons, how tinc will choose which one is preferred? And the weight settings in each daemon for subnet will or will not be the judge?

tinc on macosx
Hi, I have macosx 10.5.8 and Tunnelblick (openvpn) installed before. I have installed tinc using port and got version 1.0.11 (Jun 29 2010 15:10:51) now I have 2 problems: 1) the interface variable from the tinc.conf is not used, instead I have a tun0 interface (or tap0). 2) the tinc-up script seems to be fired too early as I get an error: ifconfig: interface /dev/tap0 does not exist when I run

Sending your passphrase encrypted is all fine, but tinc sends the key with which it was encrypted about a second later... Anyone being able to intercept these two requests is authorized on the VPN. Tinc 1.0 - Limit Bandwidth
Hi Team I am trying to limit one of my tinc nodes to only consume 100Kbps bandwidth (Send and Receive). I am not sure if I am setting the right option under its main configuration file (tinc.conf) . Will these options serve my purpose? I have set them up but the Tunnel Adapter (running on Windows) still consumes all the bandwidth available. ================ UDPRcvBuf = 12500 UDPSndBuf = 12500
