(no subject)
I have setup a bridged connection using the guide on
openvpn.sourceforge.net. The two linux gateways have established a vpn
connection over the internet but i can''t seem to get
anything through it. I''m using shorewall, but pretty much all the policies
are open right now. One thing that i see i am doing different is that i
have two different ip setups on the two networks.

Routing all connections through a OpenVPN tunnel
Hi all,
I have set up a working OpenVPN2 connection between my Server and my
gateway at home.
Now I want all traffic to be routed through this VPN connection.
Currently everything is going through eth1 to the internet (to the gateway
of the University which forwards it to the internet :-).
We must use a prox-server and because of this I am not abel to watch the
real-Media streams on

OpenVPN traffic will not be routed into network / as DefaultGW traffic ... with 1 NIC
Hello!
I''ve the following set-up
RemoteClient1 (Win Vista), RemoteClient2 (Win XP) do both connect to
my OpenVPN box. They can talk to each other, using their 172.16.1.x
tun0 Address on the server.
The server itself (Ubuntu gutsy, OpenVPN: 2.0.9-8, shorewall:3.4.4-1)
has 1 NIC that connects the machine to

Serious cross-subnet browsing question
I've been having troubles getting cross subnet browsing working in
existance with a WinNT domain master (hey, it's not my machine).
Basically what is happening is that I am trying to setup a VPN (which
shouldn't complicate things) that browsing will work across. The idea is
this:
There is an office in my local city that I'm connecting San Francisco to
via VPN. The TCP/IP part is

Migrating to replacement PDC
I've been reading the SAMBA documentation at:
http://us3.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-Guide/upgrades.html#id2600749
But I just need some confirmation since this is our primary server,
and I'm not fully confident about what I read.
SITUATION:
We currently have a Samba server running as our Primary Domain
Controller which is authenticating against a local LDAP database. The

reassemble large packets in switch mode
Hello,
i run into trouble using tinc in switch mode.
Its a simple setup with 2 hosts.
Both running tincd 1.0.4 (Debian testing)
Setup host A:
Server, does not make connections to host
B. The vpn0 interface is part of a Linux bridge,
witch is ipv4 configured.
Setup host B:
Makes connections to host
A, beside this its configured similar.
Now it seems large packets can not be transmitted.

Host key verification (known_hosts) with ProxyJump/ProxyCommand
Hi all,
I noticed a bit of an odd issue with maintaining `known_hosts` when the
target machine is behind a bastion using `ProxyJump` or `ProxyCommand`
with host key clashes.
Client for me right now is OpenSSH_9.3p1 on Gentoo Linux/AMD64. I'm a
member of a team, and most of us use Ubuntu (yes, I'm a rebel). Another
team who actually maintain this fleet often access the same machines

Shorewall, PPTP VPN, and Samba
What I''m doing:
I have Shorewall on a SuSE 9.0 machine, which is the firewall/router
on the network. External interface is eth0 172.16.1.1, internal
interface is eth1 10.40.1.1. (I used the Two-interface Linux System
Quickstart Guide). All works well with that configuration. I also use
PPPD for dial-in clients, and have two modems for incoming calls.
Recently I added VPN interface

Bug in the HOWTO: proxy-arp (?)
Hello alltogether,
I''m new to the list, so please excuse any violations of listiquette...
I didn''t have to much to do with linux based firewalling and routing for
quite a time and found that proxy-arp changed in between...
As I struggled with it I found that the Advanced routing... howto wasn''t to
helpfull. Especially the documentation seems to be rather vice versa to
