Hey Saverio, I'd really like the idea of a tinc-1.1-pre package for OpenWRT. I'm currently using tinc-1.1 with an Ed25519-only network, really like the new features and CLI and want to add some OpenWRT routers into the mix. How do you plan to handle things with OpenSSL? tinc-1.1 from git should be able to compile without it (but will then only support the built-in algorithms). Depending

Hello, to start could you tell us what version of OpenWrt are you using ? Is it a stable release ? and what version of tinc you are trying to install ? if it is just a problem with the tun/tap module, on OpenWrt you have not modprobe, so you should use insmod insmod tun Saverio

Greetings. I'm new to tinc, but have so far managed to get a couple laptops and a hosted server all connected. They're working as expected, running Tinc 1.1-pre11, which I compiled from source. Next I want to move on to adding my home router into the mix. My routers run OpenWRT. I don't have experience compiling anything from source for OpenWRT, but OpenWRT has Tinc 1.0.25

Hi Maxim The reason I have two kernel is as follows. When I did fresh install of openwrt , i tried "opkg install tinc" . It then said "dependency required , kernel (= 3.3.8-1-" as I was on 2.6.31. I then downloaded 3.3.8-1 and did opkg install kernel. And this is how I have both...I think i just need to get a better image to start off with...Ill search and get back to you.

Is your package built with or without OpenSSL? How do you intergrate with UCI? Can I view the makefile somewhere? I received this PR for the tinc package on OpenWrt. https://github.com/openwrt/packages/pull/7646/files Not sure if this is something that is better going upstream instead. Moreover, from a security point of view, is it okay to merge this patch ? thank you Saverio

Hello, I have a UPS device connected (USB) to a Debian server, but I want to change it and connect to a OpenWRT router. I installed this packages: nut-server (2.6.5-2) nut-driver-blazer_usb (2.6.5-2) The problem is that I don't know where to configure it. Anyone with a UPS connect to a OpenWRT device? Hi, we are using Tinc in our Freifunk Network in Oldenburg for internode connections over the internet. So Tinc is running on OpenWrt 10.03 on Dlink Dir-300 Routers. We all have enough internet bandwith (1,6 MB/sec and more) but we only get a maximum speed of ~350KB/sec between two tinc nodes because then tinc uses 99% of the cpu. Is it possible to get more Speed with tinc on this machines?

I haven't tried this myself, but it looks like recent versions of OpenWRT use UCI, which seems to generate configuration files (including those for NUT) from a unified configuration syntax.
