forwarding email with sieve of spf domains
There's no ambiguity here, if you send a message, you are the sender. The envelope from should be yours. On Sunday, 25/10/2020 at 11:48 Marc Roos wrote: Say someone has setup spf for his domain and sends an email to a user that has in roundcube enabled the sieve forward. Pigeon Sieve, redirect action and SPF
Since I've upgraded to dovecot 2.0.13 + Pigeonhole 0.2.3 (Gentoo package) I've received a few complains of users about rejected messages. Investigating the problem, I've seen that when the external sender server publishes SPF information, when some message is sent from there to one of my users that has a Sieve redirect action active to another external system (that does SPF

Multiple vacation
Hi all I'm using Dovecot 2.2.9 and I'm having problems configuring multiple vacation actions. The problem is that I'd like to have two different senders and two different messages, selecting the correct case by the recipient email address. I mean, if someone writes me to my email address "to-address1 at example.com" I'd like to answer from "from-address1 at

SV: handling spam from gmail.
I know it is not dovecot who should fix this. But anyone using dovecot is using an MTA, and receiving spam ;) I know how to look at email headers. Spf and dkim is not solving anything here. -----Original Message----- From: Sebastian Nielsen [mailto:sebastian at sebbe.eu] Sent: donderdag 11 juni 2020 10:23 To: Marc Roos; 'dovecot'; 'users' Subject: SV: handling spam from

Send SPF SoftFails to Junk
Hello Dovecot gurus, I've set up SPF checking on my postfix gateway and have confirmed that messages from domains set with hard fails that don't come from a good sender are rejected outright. Messages from domains set with a softfail that come from bad sources are tagged in the message header with "Softfail (domain owner discourages use of this host)", but end up in the

SPF Record questions
I am inquiring about how to setup a proper SPF record. I know there are SPF wizards/generators available but each seem to have a different "opinion" of what should be included and what should not be included. Let me give you a scenario of my setup, and hopefully someone can help me out. My domain is: test.com My mailserver hostname is: mail.host.com which also has a MATCHING PTR

vacation rule addresses
Hello everyone, We have Dovecot 2.1.6 and Pigeonhole 0.3.0. We would like Pigeonhole not to send the vacation response to noreply at whatever.com<mailto:noreply at whatever.com>. In this wiki http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Pigeonhole/Sieve/Usage#Vacation_auto-reply are showed the different exceptions, but the noreply is not in there. How can I add this address, or another one, to this exception

hosting emails at home
Hello Mike, Yes, I am using a static IP address, but in theory, you could use a dynamic one. Nothing technically would prevent email exchanges between two boxes, as long as the SPF records are up to date and the DKIM is properly setup. Unfortunately, some ISPs are simply blacklisting full range of private IP addresses just because they are not officials / commercials. Kind regards, Andr? On

Looking for a guide to collect all e-mail from the ISP mail server
> You need SPF and DKIM for your outgoing email to be accepted. > [...] I don't understand why that is the case (but keep in mind that I am a newbie). Is it not possible to set up some internal SMTP server that only relies the e-mails to the external ISP SMTP server? The internal SMTP server would then act like a normal user's Thunderbird. At first I tought that the internal

hosting emails at home
I have dovecot postfix setup on my home server as well. I use a virtual server in the cloud as my mx record and mail relay and have my home record on dynamic dns. It's really effective. Case sensitivity in :addresses in sieve vacation scripts
Hi, I have recently updated from Dovecot 2.2 to 2.3. Since I have noticed that vacation responses from sieve are not working the same anymore. For example, my sieve script looks like this: vacation :days 1 :addresses ["Kippels at hhu.de","julian.kippels at hhu.de"] it used to be that I got a vacation response if I sent a mail to kippels at hhu.de and Kippels at hhu.de.
