[klibc 14/43] Remove in-kernel nfsroot code
The in-kernel nfsroot code is obsoleted by kinit. Remove it; it
causes conflicts.

NFS lock contention for dovecot-uidlist
We are in the process of migrating away from Courier-IMAP/POP3 and
Maildrop. I want to use Dovecot (LDA, IMAP, POP3). During my testing, it
has worked great except for dotlocking on the dovecot-uidlist file.
The problem:
When a delivery is being made with deliver and a mail client has the
mailbox open (Thunderbird in this case), neither Thunderbird or deliver
can get a dotlock on the

nfsstat -m equivalent
Is there an equivalent command to nfsstat -m on Centos 3.4?
On solaris it reports statistics for each NFS mounted file system
i.e.:
/mount/point from host:/some/path
Flags:
vers=3,proto=tcp,sec=sys,hard,intr,link,symlink,acl,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,retrans=5,timeo=50
Attr cache: acregmin=3,acregmax=60,acdirmin=30,acdirmax=60
On a related topic, how can I make a Centos3.4 nfs server

Attribute Cache flush errors on FreeBSD 8.2
I'm running dovecot 2.0.16 on FreeBSD 8.2 with the mail spool and
indexes on an NFS server.
Lines like the following keep appearing in syslog for access to each
mailbox:
Error: nfs_flush_attr_cache_fd_locked: fchown(/home/philk/Mail/Deleted)
failed: Bad file descriptor
This is coming from nfs-workarounds.c line 210, which tracing back seems
to be coming from the call to mbox_lock on

Weird behaviour opening pdf files (and maybe others)
Hi,
I had to review a samba setup recently where people experienced strange
things.
Basically they more from a solaris on phisical machines environment
(locally hosted) running an old version of samba (2.x or even 1.x) to a Red
Hat virtualized environement runing 3.6 (remotely hosted).
The link between clients and server is really good (2x100Mb/s fiber) and

[patch 11/12] Unpleasantness in linux/nfs_mount.h
There is a conflict in glibc between <linux/in.h> and <netinet/in.h>:
one defines protocols with an enum, the other does the same,
but adds a self-define for every enumerated value.
#define IPPROTO_IP IPPROTO_IP
This means the two cannot be mixed, and since loads of include files
refer to <netinet/in.h>, effectively <linux/in.h> cannot be used
with glibc.

bug resolve yet for export OCFS2 volume to NFS client ?
I found this from ocfs1.4 document:
g) NFS
OCFS2 volumes can be exported as NFS volumes. This support is limited to
NFS version 3, which translates to Linux kernel version 2.4 or later.
Users must mount the NFS volumes on the clients using the nordirplus
mount option. This disables the READDIRPLUS RPC call to workaround a bug
in NFSD, detailed in the following link:

huge increase in storage activity afther dovecot upgrade
Yes, multiple imap servers using one shared nfs storage. With the same
config on 2.2.13 the public interface traffic was similar to the storage
interface, around 100 mbps.
After we switch to 2.2.27 the storage interface traffic jumped 10 times
while the public interface stayed the same. This make us thinking that
something is wrong and each time a user logs in the whole Inbox content
is read

zfs crashes with nfs and snapshots
Hi folks,
I just saw one of my FreeBSD servers (7.0-stable of June 2008) crash while
trying to access the .zfs snapshot directory via a nfs client machine.
The server got a page fault caused by the nfsd process. It wasn't even
able to dump the kernel image anymore.
Resetting the machine it first appeared to come back fine, but shortly
before the login prompt the nfsd let it crash hard again

Strange index error on NFS after upgrade to CentOS 7 from 6
Hi,
I'm running 3 Dovecot director and 6 Dovecot backend on CentOS 6 and
Dovecot 2.3.10, with Maildir shared on NFSv3 (on NetApp).
Since CentOS 6 will be EOL on November I started to upgrade to CentOS 7
the first Dovecot backend.
But after Director start to direct users on new CentOS 7 server some
errors, for any users, come up, an example:

Dovecot mailstore performance tuning
HI All,
We have a couple of dovecot director proxies and six backed mailstores
each accessing mailboxes stored on five NFSv4 filsystems with about
1TB of mail on each in maildir format.? We have about 800 max users
on each mailstore at peak times and performance appears to starting to
degrade at these times.? The mailstores are pretty recent hardware
with 64GB of RAM and 24 cores.?? The NFS

I need some NFS explanations, please.
I have a problem with NFS that I can't start to resolve. All servers are
CentOS 5 servers. One server exports a directory and two others mount
it. Simple so far.
A file is created on the server, and the two nfs clients do an "ls -al"
and get a common (meaning the same) result as the server. Over the
course of a day, and after the file on the server has been modified on

Reg: ocfs2_wait_for_mask [nfsd]
Hi All,
we have installed the below ocfs2 version and exported the ocfs2 FS over nfs
to some other nfs clients.

ocfs2-2.6.18-164.10.1.el5-1.4.7-1.el5
ocfs2console-1.4.4-1.el5
after some time or some day, we can't access the monted FS in nfs client.
Below are process which we see issue on the nfs server when we have problem
