Limit max number of e-mails sent per hour
Hello list I use sendmail-8.14.4-8.el6.x86_64 and I wonder how to restrict the number of emails sendmail sent over an hour. Is the define(`confMAX_QUEUE_RUN_SIZE', `200') command what I'm looking for? Thank you in advance. Nikos

Simple backup of maildir folder
Hi, I want to do a simple backup of my maildir. I read here that maildirlock is not to count on in the future and the recommended option was to use doveadm backup. However, it seems that this requires to setup another dovecot server. My questions are: - How much to I need to configure this new server? Do I need to setup user by user, or even install postfix (that's where my users are

sieve
Hi, is there a sieve option that can reject a mail directly without creating a new mail and sending that out? I know about reject "Reject message goes here"; but I am looking for a mechanism that can reject Mail. Postfix can use reject_unverified_recipient to connect to LMTP and ask if a mail would successfully be enqueued and will return the status gotten from the LMTP server if not.

Hierarchy separator recommendation?
The dot '.' will work, but I suggest to follow documentation here: https://wiki1.dovecot.org/Namespaces, And it says: A commonly used separator is '/'. It probably causes the least amount of trouble with different IMAP clients And I already had problems using '.' as a namespace separator. On 2020-04-24 15:56, Sami Ketola wrote: > >> On 24. Hierarchy separator recommendation?
Dear dovecot list, I'm using Maildir as mailbox format. Is there any recommendation for the namespace hierarchy separator? Currently I didn't set any. So it is the default of dot '.' I'm switiching from a rather unknown IMAP Server called DBMail (http://www.dbmail.org/) Planning to synchronize the mailboxes via imapsync (https://github.com/imapsync/imapsync) Is there

New Dovecot service: SMTP Submission (RFC6409)
Hi, As some of you know, I started implementing the SMTP submission proxy a few years ago. It acts as a front-end for any MTA, adding the necessary functionality for an SMTP submission service, also known as a Mail Submission Agent (MSA) (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6409). The main reason I created this, back then, was implementing the BURL capability (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4468). The

Mysql login-problem after recent 4.1.20 upgrade (CentOS4.3, x86_64)
Hi all, I've upgraded my mysql-installation from the previous 4.1.12 version to the new 4.1.20 version, and I've found that a daemon I'm using suddenly can't log into the database anymore. I've verified the problem with the mysql command; [root at sciream ~]# mysql -upostfix -p mysql Enter password: ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user

Samba3 in W2k AD, W98 clients need password for Samba share
Hello everybody, I've setup a file server with Debian GNU/Linux (Sarge) and Samba v3.0.10 with ACL, Kerberos etc... so I can join the Windows 2000 domain. I can use users from domain on file server without problems and Windows 2000, XP clients can access Samba shares. But when I try to connect to \\fs from Windows 98 client (in domain) it requests password from me (\\fs\IPC$). I have

Conditional SASL authentication
Hello, I have a few users that are often hit by a trojan virus that steals e-mail user and password. Having a very little (if not null) power on their machines, I need to be able to block the outgoing mail wich is handled by postfix via dovecot SASL. Blocking it at dovecot level would be optimal, for the virus doesn't necessarily use the e-mail of the user as its from, just the user and

DSD Approved Products
Hi, I am considering installing several `servers' in a facility that needs to conform with the products listed at: DSD Approved Products http://www.dsd.gov.au/infosec/evaluation_services/epl/dap.html As far as i can see freebsd performs above and beyond, for all the required criteria in the act. Can we see freebsd listed as an approved product in the near future? Best Regards, Jason - RF

RE: [Asterisk-Dev] Open source time card application for Asterisk
A little bird whispers to me: Don't expect this particular trick to be un-addressed by various legislatures forever. That window is closing, and the bottom of the window looks very much like a guillotine blade - don't have your head in the wrong place. In any case, as has been discussed on -users before (which is where this thread should go, and thus where I'm relegating it)
