User doesn't exist
Hello,
well, the user "bruno" does exist.
Can I make it ignore the hostname part or accept the user "bruno" as
"bruno at 2c2axxx.online-server.cloud"?
Can I change the lookup in dovecot or do I have to edit the postfix
configuration?
Best wishes,
Bruno

Second DC doesn't recognize users/groups on getent
Hello,
I just realized that my second DC does not recognize the users from the AD.
wbinfo -u/-g are working just fine.

grupos=100(users),10001(POL\ti),3000009(BUILTIN\users)

Second DC doesn't recognize users/groups on getent
Hello Rowland,
I should also mention that Samba 4.3.0 was installed from tarball, I
compiled it myself.
DC2 does not have the /var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb file. Also it did not
return any result on DC1.
However, using /usr/local/samba/private/sam.ldb, both DCs returned the same
thing:
# returned 4 records
# 1 entries
# 3 referrals
I wonder why DC1 has the /var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb file

[LLVMdev] Cross compling with LLVM for MIPS
I have installed LLVM on my machine (ubuntu) a while ago. I think my LLVM version is 2.8. is it supported in 2.8 ? When I install i didn't configure LLVM for mips. Do I have to configure it when I build ?
Thanks in advance. Really appreciate it.

FW: kerberos nfs4's principals and root access
If not done, add the server to the AD.
Add the host and nfs to the COMPUTERNAME($) account.
And use winbind to refresh the keytab.
Stop samba,
remove the keytab, create the new with the new SPN's in it,
start samba.
And Use the second keytab for apache with only http as upn in it.

Rank transformation and the linear mixed model
Hello,
I am looking for references about mixed models built on rank transformed
data.
Did anybody ever consider this topic?
Thank you,
Bruno

Samba + Exchange 5.5 SP4 (UPDATE)
Hi.
Applied it to 3.0.8, which still has the issue...
Worked like a charm...
Thanks a lot.
Will it be merged with future samba releases?
Best regards.

How to execute an SQL statement in rails?
Hello,
This is probably a silly question but looking at
"api.rubyonrails.org", I can''t seem to figure out which method I
should be using ... I want to execute an sql statement, like "truncate
table BLAH" from within one of my rails app ... What''s the "right" way
to do this?
Thanks,

logistic discrimination: which chance performance??
Hello,
I am using logistic discriminant analysis to check whether a known
classification Yobs can be predicted by few continuous variables X.
What I do is to predict class probabilities with multinom() in nnet(),
obtaining a predicted classification Ypred and then compute the percentage
P(obs) of objects classified the same in Yobs and Ypred.
My problem now is to figure out whether P(obs) is

mixed models: correlation between fixed and random effects??
Hello,
I built 4 mixed models using different data sets and standardized variables
as predictors.
In all the models each of the fixed effects has an associated random effect
(same predictor).
What I find is that fixed effects with larger (absolute) standardized
parameter estimates have also a higher estimate of the related random
effect. In other words, the higher the average of the absolute

[LLVMdev] Performance of JNI in VMKit
Hi Nicolas,
thanks for your detailed answer! Now I understand the issues a little better.
I'm going to install LLVM + Vmkit and try it out using JNI.
Regarding the garbage collector, do you think that the Garbage Collection ABI
of C++11 could be implemented in a way compatible to the JVM's garbage collector?

[LLVMdev] Branch delay slots broken.
I still can't reproduce because it's fixed in trunk for Mips and Sparc
for a long time now, you must be using a really old version! :)
Just for reference, it was fixed for Mips and Sparc in r108820 and r96492.
Thanks anyway!
