SQL passdb lookups not working
Hello everyone, I'm trying to make dovecot do user authentication against a SQL database. The passwords (managed by Django) are stored as salted SHA1 encoded in hex. I monkey patched Django's password method so that the password hash is made with <password><salt> (Django does <salt><password>, the patched method was verified to return same value as

Both Dovecot and OpenDKIM packages on OpenBSD are rejecting connections because of CRYPTO, and they use libressl by default. I use openssl because libressl does not implement dane, so I am recompiling both to serve my use case, and sharing results along the way. This is the opendkim error: > opendkim: ... Password mismatch after upgrade to Ubuntu Focal
Hi! Today I upgraded one of our Dovecot servers from Ubuntu 18.04 to Ubuntu 20.04. After the upgrade I have login issues because the password didn't match. I also installed Dovecot on a clean Ubuntu 20.04 server with the same configuration files. And here I also got the password match issue. We're using LDAP for managing the login credentials and I'm 100% sure the password is

PATCH: CRAM-MD5 for Dovecot
Hi Timo, Mozilla 1.5 doesn't understand DIGEST-MD5; it only speaks CRAM-MD5 or PLAIN. Maybe other clients have the same problem. My users like Mozilla, so I wrote new code for Dovecot to speak CRAM-MD5, using your mech-digest-md5.c as a reference. Attached diff in two formats i) for current CVS ii) against last release both tested and working with Mozilla and KMail's CRAM-MD5. I

RHEL7/CentOS7 RPM of dovecot 2.3.11.3-3 seems to have dropped tcpwrap support
Using the Repo http://repo.dovecot.org/ce-2.3-latest after upgrading from 2.3.10.1-3 to 2.3.11.3-3 we get numerous error messages like: dovecot: imap-login: Error: connect(tcpwrap) failed: No such file or directory We use tcpwrap support in dovecot, which worked flawlessly in the older version. I can see that the socket /var/run/dovecot/login/tcpwrap is not created anymore. And comparing with

Apple Mail and subfolders
Hi all, does anybody here use MacOS (Catalina) Mail, who can confirm that subfolders (i.e. folders inside folders) work for them? It seems that I cannot create/access Maildir subfolders at all. Subfolders created in Mail show up as '.folder\2esubfolder' on disk, suggesting that Apple Mail is URL-coding the dot separator before it passes it onto Dovecot. No such translation takes place

zlib errors after upgrading
unfortunately after re-installing 2.3.11.3, those broken-pipe errors appear again. (on different, new files) so for sure there is something broken with zlib. I will go back to2.3.10.1 now. attached is the configuration file, though it did not change between 2.3.10.1 and 2.3.11.3 Robert Am 26.08.2020 um 09:42 schrieb Robert Nowotny: > I had 4 broken mdbox files for 4 different users. >
