Public folder replication ( not replicating) - roadmap query
Hi,
We have a server pair running Dovecot 2.3.10 (latest stable) version
directly from repo.dovecot.org and have mailbox and sieve replication
working as required in production.
I have setup a test pair with the exact same configuration and on each
server setup public name space for a? mailbox address such as jobs@
where multiple users would need to subscribe to this to view recruitment

Duplicate mail id issue, mailbox does not exist when dovecot tries to generate a new guid so replication can take place
Hi all,
When we run the below one user constantly shows as failed (dovecot
version is 2.2.13):
sudo doveadm replicator status "*"
mail.log shows the below for the user:
Jan? 3 16:20:57 hostname dovecot: dsync-server(user): Error: Duplicate

Shared folder hierarchies, multiple groups
Hi,
I'm trying to set up two shared folder hierarchies on my Dovecot
installation for two groups of employees, all of whom should only have
access to their own hierarchy. Any employee should be able to create
sub-folders and generally have full access to the hierarchy.
My initial setup was to create two public namespaces, Shared-One and
Shared-Two. Each is a Maildir under /var/mail.

Dsync replication - delayed replication (Sync lock)
Hi,
*Our setup:*
Two Debian 10 machines that are setup to replicate mail between them, we
have round robin DNS setup so a user can connect to either server.
*What should happen:*
Mail is delivered to either server and replicated across straight away
to their mailbox on the other server so it does not matter which one
they are connected to they will receive it fairly soon after delivery.

Replication and public folders with private (seen) flags
We started using Dovecot replication between two nodes and noticed that
our configured private flags (INDEXPVT) in public/shared mailboxes are
not replicated. We are only replicating INBOX namespace, as we dont want
to replicate content of shared mailboxes for every user again.
Is there a way to replicate the INDEXPVT or is that not (yet) implemented?

Sieve replication - Debian 9.11 - Dovecot 2.2.7 - script changes not replicated
Hi,
I am trying to setup Sieve replication, it is almost working:
1/ Create a script - sync'd across
2/ Activate/de-activate a script - change sync'd
3/ Delete a script - change sync'd
But if I make a change to a script it is not replicated, unless I
de-activate and activate again.
I am seeing in the logs the below during this process

List shared folders
Good morning!
I run an imap-only Ubuntu 8.04 mail server with dovecot 1.2 and
pam_ldap, so all my users are posix users. No virtual user or domain, no
sql so far. I am setting up shared folders with "namespace shared". I
got no errors upon restarting the service, but I get no shared folders
listing.
As per the wiki http://wiki.dovecot.org/SharedMailboxes/Shared I can use

Shared inbox?
Chris,
I do indeed have an acl_shared_dict set up. That may be the ticket. That makes it so that the IMAP server knows that you have acls on the other mailbox, so it can know to then look in that mailbox to find out precisely what the ACLs are.
Cheers,
Andy

Dovecot replication does not replicate subscription in shared mailboxes
We use a pair of replicating Dovecot servers.
If a user subscribes to a folder, shared by an other user, in one
replica, that does not get replicated to the other node. Subscription of
regular folders below INBOX seem to replicate correctly.
Is that a general bug, a known problem or do we need to enable that somehow.
Here's our configuration for the concerned namespace:
namespace users {

Shared folders using mbox format
Hi,
I'd like to create a shared folder to be used with an Outlook client
and a Thunderbird client. We're currently using mboxes.
I've read the documentation here about creating a shared folder:
https://wiki.dovecot.org/SharedMailboxes/Shared
It doesn't make reference to how to do this using mbox format. Is it
possible? Should we convert to Maildir? Perhaps there's a way to

Replication oddities - different sizes between replicated nodes
Dear Dovecot community,
As discussing on IRC with Aki, I have the following thing happening:
I got an alert from my mailservice last night that I was running over quota. My quota reached almost 91% (coming from 30%) in one day.
I do not recall receiving so much email (we talk about multiple gb?s additional space usage), so something was acting up.
When I logged into my mailservers (I?ll

Replication and public namespaces
Hi,
I'm having some issues with replicating public namespaces. Everything
seems to work fine for private namespaces, but while importing some huge
mailboxes (many small mails) into a public namespace via imapsync,
something goes wrong.
The expected mail flow is:
old-server (imapsync)> new-server1 (replication)> new-server2
But then, dovecot seems to run into race conditions when the

[Configuration question] Shared Folders: sql dict - missing information
Hello Community,
I have implemented shared folders/acl using the 'file' driver sucessfully.
Now, I want to move the shared folders information to my sql DB where I
have moved all user/nets/quota information.
I have read carefully the documentation
(https://wiki.dovecot.org/SharedMailboxes/Shared), but, as far as I can
see, only the $to and $from (+ dummy) are handled in the DB?

Yup, I'd looked at those, but still left not understanding all of the options. And you gave a doveadm command, which I appreciate very much, but surprises me since the materials in the ACL wiki page are

iterate query and dsync replication 2.2.33.2
All,
According to doco replication gets its list of users to replicate from
the iterate query but this doesn't seem to be the case or its just being
totally ignored ..
Have ldap passbd and sql userdb, with the iterate query in the userdb
sql file. -The query itself returns the handful of users I want to
replicate BUT if I run the command dovecot replicator status '*' it

workaround for shared maildirs
Hello, this is my first post to the list.
I have several mailservers running courier-imap, but am planning to
convert one (and maybe more) to dovecot 1.1.4. In the process I am
also looking to finally implement shared maildirs.
As it is well known some clients (notable Apple's Mail) have problems
in showing shared folders if the correct private namespace (INBOX) is
set in the client,

Smaba 4.0.3 replication: Warning: No NC replicated for Connection!
Hi folks,
I think I've read every thread on this issue and don't seem to be able to
resolve it. It doesn't appear to be affecting anything, however I'm not
entirely sure what the implications are either way.
What should I do to troubleshoot it? I have BIND9_FLAT updating a BIND
server, all of the records appear correct, regular AD objects are
replicated fine as well.
Any help

How can replicated and distributed replicated volume benefit read performance in most environments?
Hi,
I'm trying to get in over my head with the different glusterFs volume types
and their affect on performance. But few things In not clear
By analyzing tcpdump, I can see that the reads happen from only one
host/brick out of the replicated set. Then what makes replicated type gives
better read performance than any other volume type except striped types.

Jeevan.

Samba4 AD/DC Replication
Hi folks!
I'm having some trouble replicating a domain.
I followed the steps in this guide:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO/Join_a_domain_as_a_DC
I followed the steps and everything worked fine for me.
but...
If I make changes on the PDC, these changes are replicated to the Secondary
DC, but if I make changes to the Secondary, these are not seen in the PDC.
Is there any way
