User unknown in local recipient table? Dovecot LDA/Postfix
This probably is a postfix problem, but I think there are lots of postfix experts/users on this list, and have heard a lot good things about this list, so I am just giving it a try. Thanks in advance! I am using dovecot-1.0.0-8_56.src.rpm downloaded from atrpms.net, and rebuilt from it(rpmrebuild ...). Postfix is 2.4.3. I followed documents at http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA and LDA/Postfix, and

ssh tunneling and maildir
Hello everyone, please keep my CC'd, I'm not on the list. I've been using dovecot happily via an ssh tunnel. My mutt is configured to use IMAP, and the tunnel is as follows in my muttrc: set tunnel="ssh -q mymailhost 'MBOX_LOCKS=fcntl MAIL=/home/jlbec/mail /usr/libexec/dovecot/imap'" It should be pretty obvious that this logs into mymailhost as me (via SSH

You have the setting on to HIDE files that can't be written to. Try turning that off. Next, investigate why it's causing the files to get 540 permissions instead of 740 (or other). Ok, it's taken me a while, but here's what seems to be the problem. In OSX I see a lock on the file. If that lock is ON, it disappears. But what is that lock and where did it come from.... Is it like a read only lock? On Thu, Mar 30, 2017 at 11:04 AM Curtis Vaughan <cavaughan at gmail.com> wrote: > Ok, here's what seems to be going on. When a JPG is put into a share it >

Ok, here's what seems to be going on. When a JPG is put into a share it inherits permissions of 540. When I chmod it to 740 it appears in file browsers. So the file is actually there, but invisible. But I've tried other files and everything else copies over with 740. Again, why? On Thu, Mar 30, 2017 at 10:56 AM Curtis Vaughan <cavaughan at gmail.com> wrote: > [global] > >

newbie graphics question: Two density plots in same frame ?
I swear I've scoured the help files and several texts before posting what feels like a dumb newbie question. How can I draw two kernel density plots in the same frame ? I have similar variables in two separate data frames, and I would like to show their two histograms/densities in a single picture. Same units, scale, range for both, so I'm simply trying to draw one and then add the

Converting user mailboxes from maildir to sdbox
Hello, I've got a Postfix/Dovecot server setup. Currently Dovecot is version 2.3.6, and it's using Maildir storage. The mailbox is: mail_home = /home/vmail/mailboxes/%d/%n mail_location = maildir:~/mail:LAYOUT=fs I'm wanting to convert from Maildir to sdbox. I looked at: https://wiki2.dovecot.org/MailboxFormat I was initially thinking mdbox but that's multiple messages per

Question about indexes and maildir/sdbox/mdbox
Hello We are now running dovecot 2.0.9 with indexes in a ram disk and maildir storage in a test system. We have the following questions: - If there is a power outage / kernel crash, we will lose the content of ramdisk. We have tested that indexes are regenerated when a user logs in via imap, so e-mail access will be "slower" after a power outage / kernel crash, but

sdbox filesystem backup potential excludes
When doing a filesystem backup of an moderate sdbox mailstore (300GB) - are there any files that can be safely excluded from the backup?? Like *.log or *.backup?? Or are they all "vital" for recovery? I'm already excluding the sdbox/virtual folders as it looks like they get created and updated as needed. -- Daniel

Syntax to specify sdbox: mail_location path?
I'm implementing sdbox. In conf.d/10-mail.conf, with "maildir:" mail_location = maildir:/my_mailbox_path/%d/%n mail gets stored in /my_mailbox_path/%d/%n/new/ With "sdbox:" mail_location = sdbox:/my_mailbox_path/%d/%n mail gets stored in /my_mailbox_path/%d/%n/mailboxes/INBOX/dbox-Mails. How do I get rid of the '/mailboxes/' and '/dbox-Mails/' path

Converting from Maildir - sdbox
OK - I thought this was going to be easy. Maybe it is. I'm just not that good at reading directions. Trying to use dsync. Getting this error: Mail locations must use the same virtual mailbox hierarchy separator (specify separator for the default namespace) Currently using maildir. The setup is as follows: mail_uid = mail mail_gid = mail mail_location =

rsync sdbox, no new mails?
Hello, I had to restore a mailserver from a backup to replace a system with problems that is still live. I did a 1:1 restore as far as possible from a backup, then rsynced the /var/vmail/ directory, where we have all the mailboxes, in sdbox format. So both directories should be the same. After syncing, I started dovecot. I can see the mails until to the point of the backup, but not the newer
