Did you install the debug symbols for Dovecot? On Debian, those are
available as a separate dovecot-dbg package. I'm not sure how FreeBSD
provides this.

I'm the dovecot maintainer for FreeBSD. To get DEBUG symbols, if you are building your own package, add:
WITH_DEBUG_PORTS=mail/dovecot
To your /etc/make.conf, and the symbols should then be available.

Dovecot crashing when attempting to search in virtual folder with fts_squat activated
Hi everyone,
I am running into a problem when trying to use fts_squat in a virtual
folder. Without fts_squat plugin the search (from, subject...) works in
all folders. With activated fts the search on the inbox folders works
expectedly well but any attempt to search anything in any virtual folder
leads to the following error. Similarly when attempting "doveadm fts
lookup". I also

Dovecot crashing when attempting to search in virtual folder with fts_squat activated
fts_squat was deprecated in 2.1. There's a high likelihood it is buggy in a variety of ways in any recent Dovecot release.

I've since rebuilt/reconfig'd all parts of my setup from scratch; some good cleanup along the way.
Atm, my entire system for send/recv, store/retrieve, + rules & search is working as I intend. Ok, mostly ...
Except for this accented-character search mystery. I've got a _lot_ of mail with various languages in bodies, so _do_ need to get this sorted.

Logging the CID from the Privacy Manager
Hi folks,
My v1.6 Asterisk system logs all Call Detail Records to a PostgreSQL
database, including those handled by the Privacy Manager.
Unfortunately, even though I can use the CLI to see the information
being submitted by anonymous callers to satisfy the demands of the the
Privacy Manager, that information is not recorded in the database.
Instead, all that is written to it:

Sad news about JW Schultz
I was saddened to learn today that JW Schultz was found dead back on
March 27th of this year. JW was a big help in the recent development of
rsync and I sorely missed his presence during the last release cycle.
JW was also the author of the Dirvish backup software, and Keith
Lofstrom (who provided me with the sad news) has plans to put some
memorial information onto the new dirvish site as

A nightly scripted rsync backup job is giving me this error
