Test failure on ARM: backtrace_append
Hi, I am a packager in Guix and user of dovecot on an ARM server (armhf). The Guix package fails to build because of a test error (see the last lines of the full build log: https://ci.guix.gnu.org/log/f5if2qb5rsqag3a6jy5vga1l9hm9pkj0-dovecot-2.3.9.3). As the name suggests, this is dovecot 2.3.9.3, the latest version. Previous versions built fine, as well as the same version on x86 and x86_64.

Sieve junks mail script creating links
My Junk mailbox is still filling up with hard linked emails. There are some junk mails with over 3000 hard linked files and over half a million files in the .Junk/cur folder. I had a handy script to remove them all by doing a find for inodes and sorting the list by age and keeping the olds hard link and removing all the others, but I now can?t find it :/ so I have just taken to periodically

Really slow IMAP performance
Please could you help me to understand and fix why my dovecot IMAP performance is so bad? I've read through a lot of the performance-related material on the website, but I don't think that any of it could account for slowness at the level that I am seeing. The simplest scenario is moving a message from my Inbox to another IMAP folder. Using Gnus as the client, the whole UI freezes for

2FA for Dovecot
Hi, My goal is to protect my mail account with 2FA, which isn't a crazy idea in 2020. Therefore, I would like to know the possibilities of configuring 2FA for Dovecot. In the documentation there are some hints of e.g. OTP in Dovecot [1] and using FreeIPA with Dovecot [2], where FreeIPA has the ability to enable OTP per user [3]. But I can't really find much practical information about

Authentication per Service
Hi All, I use dovecot (v2.3.4) with a SQL backend for user authentication, passwords are stored in CRAMMD5 format. My SMTP server uses "doveadm auth" via auth-socket to perform sender authentification. To shut down SMTP access for hacked passwords I want to have a dedicated flag in the user database to allow/disallow SMTP for a user withouth disabling his account for IMAP. So, is

imap-hibernate won't start
I can't get imap-hibernate to fire up. The process is not starting, and there are no clues in the logs. I tried several users/groups, but nothing happens (although I see plenty of IDLE imap-connections). Even mode 0666 didn't work. I'm on Slackware (no FreeBSD), built from source with ./configure --with-mysql My systems runs with a virtual user, and imap-processes are run under

What INTERNALDATE does dovecot with mbox storage set on a COPY'd message?
When a message is copied to a folder on dovecot with mbox storage, is the mtime of the saved mbox file set to the time of the save? Or is the mtime set to the Date: field of the source message that is saved? If there is a difference in the behaviour, do someone know the dovecot version number where the change happened? The reason I'm asking is a problem reported on the Gnus imap client in
