Dovecot 2.3.8 - How to force index creation for user/mailbox?
Thanks, but both commands didn't create dovecot.index. Only when I open folder with IMAP client, the dovecot.index is created. wt., 3 gru 2019 o 18:16 Aki Tuomi <aki.tuomi at open-xchange.com> napisa?(a): > > > On 03/12/2019 18:30 Tomek Lutelmowski via dovecot <dovecot at dovecot.org> > wrote: > > > > > > Hello, > > > > I'm using

Dovecot 2.3.8 - How to force index creation for user/mailbox?
Neither of dovecot.index files are created (.cache, .log, .thread) - these files are created when I open the folder with IMAP client. When mailbox is not used for long time, the indexing takes very long time. So I'm looking for any solution (preferably with doveadm) to manually reindex folders in background. wt., 3 gru 2019 o 20:23 Aki Tuomi <aki.tuomi at open-xchange.com> napisa?(a):

Wait, did you mean 'dovecot.index' file? That file is only created occasionally, the actual index is kept in dovecot.index.log. Someone who have mailbox in different directory than indexes, can confirm if doveadm can recreate index (after deleting dovecot.index* files) or these files can be created only by connecting with IMAP client? ?r., 4 gru 2019 o 15:45 Sami Ketola <sami.ketola at dovecot.fi> napisa?(a): > > > > On 4 Dec 2019, at 11.48, Tomek Lutelmowski via dovecot < > dovecot at

Just spotted that you are storing mails in users home root along with all other files such as index files. Maybe you should store the mailbox contents into Maildir:~/Maildir under the users home and index to ~/index/

virtual domains with SQL auth + ntlm (winbind) auth for one of them...
Hello ! Is it possible to configure dovecot so it can use SQL authentication for set of domains, and ntlm authentication for one domain? In other words, I would like to authenticate all users (with user at domain.com as login) in SQL server, and if not found, then strip @windomain.com from login and fallback to pam->winbind authentication. So far i have in my dovecot.conf: auth_default_realm

slow throughput on 1gbit lan
Hello, I'm trying to squeeze out maximum possible transfer between two Samba 3.3.1 servers. Both servers and switch supports jumbo frames, network link and disks does not appear to be bottleneck, between these two servers FTP transfer rates are about 115MB/s (1gbit link is saturated at this point) - and I'd like to see similar transfer from Samba (now I get half of it). 10.0.0.5 # wget

Corrupted transaction log and redownloading
Hi, today we had to hard-reboot one of our dovecot proxy backends and after boot up, lot's of accounts were showing this error and appeard empty: Error: Corrupted transaction log file ... After deleting the indexes (not uid file, problem wasn't in deleting indexes, i'm doing this often), e-mails showed up ok but e-mail clinets started to download them again. Why this

[PATCH] Btrfs: allow subvol deletion by unprivileged user with -o user_subvol_rm_allowed
Add a mount option user_subvol_rm_allowed that allows users to delete a (potentially non-empty!) subvol when they would otherwise we allowed to do an rmdir(2). We duplicate the may_delete() checks from the core VFS code to implement identical security checks (minus the directory size check). Trick user to send private key password to compromised host
Hi list, I do not known, if this is really an issue but i noticed that when connecting to a remote ssh host with the standard linux openssh client using a private key, that there is no line of text indicating when the local key-passwd process was completed and the connection session was established. On a compromised host, the login shell could write the line 'Enter passphrase for key
