Panic when indexing virtual folder with solr
Hello Timo and everyone, I am using dovecot 2.1 on debian7 with the fts-solr plugin, and everything is working fine. I have a Virtual folder with all emails, and when I run a doveadm index, I have an error if I don't index real folders first. Example: doveadm -v index -u 'andre rodier' 'Search/*' => Panic: file solr-connection.c: line 416 (solr_connection_select):

Post login scripts environment
Dear Dovecot users, I am running Dovecot 2.2.27 on Debian Stretch, no issue so far. I wonder if there is a way to pass the remote IP address, in an environment variable, in the post login script. My Post login scripts are working well, except that when the server is accessed through a webmail (Roundcube or SOGo), the remote IP address is systematically 127.0.0.1. The other question I have is,

Shared mailboxes not shown or accessible
Dear All, I'm trying (and failing) to implement a shared mailbox folder. My goal is to share the inbox of a user 'invoices' to a test user 'rubbish'. My ACLs appear to be correct: # doveadm acl get -u invoices inbox ID Global Rights user=rubbish create delete expunge insert lookup post read write write-deleted write-seen The shared-dict is

Hello everyone, Is it possible to configure the zlib plugin to compress the emails in one folder only? I would like to compress the emails when they are stored in my 'Archives' folders and sub folders. Thanks, Andr? Rodier.

2.2.18 Regression: Incorrect STATUS response for virtual mailboxes
As shown below, adding a message to TRASH doesn't increase virtual/test's MESSAGES count. However SELECTing virtual/test triggers the increase; so does running `doveadm mailbox status vsize virtual/test` in another shell. $ mkdir -m0700 ~/mail/virtual/test $ echo -e "TRASH\n\tall" > ~/mail/virtual/test/dovecot-virtual $ /usr/lib/dovecot/imap S: * PREAUTH [CAPABILITY

per-user virtual mailboxes
Have given up on getting the global virtual config for now, and am trying to setup the virtual mailboxes for just my user account. Basically, it's behaving exactly as it did when I was trying to use a global config. This, and the lack of errors, is causing me to think that it is something odd in my install as opposed to a configuration issue (full doveconf -n at end) mail_location =

Virtual mailboxes, index update issues
Hello, I noticed a strange behavor, where I would like to ask for help. I have set up a few virtual mailboxes using the Virtual plugin. These mailboxes are: - Unread (all undread in all mailboxes) - LastDay (last 24h of all mailboxes) - LastWeek (last 7 days of all mailboxes) ... The virtual mailboxes in general are working great. However, there is one annoying behavior I would like to fix.

hi, I spent time learning about virtual mailboxes. Is there some way to create dynamic virtual mailboxes? I mean, when I look at a mailbox, I want to see only unread messages or flagged messages in that mailbox.

Multiple IMAP Mailboxes and one collection folder
Hello, we use many IMAP folders and now we are searching for a way to display all mails inside this folders in one collecting folder. The advantage for us would be the possibility to view all new incoming mails in one folder. It would be possible to use the standard MAIL App on the iOS without problems. I could simply make a copy of all mails in one folder with Sieve, but then the Per-user Seen

hosting emails at home
Hello Mike, Yes, I am using a static IP address, but in theory, you could use a dynamic one. Nothing technically would prevent email exchanges between two boxes, as long as the SPF records are up to date and the DKIM is properly setup. Unfortunately, some ISPs are simply blacklisting full range of private IP addresses just because they are not officials / commercials. Kind regards, Andr? On

hosting emails at home
I have dovecot postfix setup on my home server as well. I use a virtual server in the cloud as my mx record and mail relay and have my home record on dynamic dns. It's really effective. Virtual Folder configuration problem. [FIXED]
Well, it took a ton of time and research, but I finally have a working Unread virtual mailbox on Dovecot 2.x on Centos 6.0. I have no idea if it's optimal or correct, but it works perfectly and doesn't raise any errors or warnings. Here's what I ended up with: dovecot.conf: Add the following: mail_plugins = $mail_plugins virtual namespace { type = private prefix =

Exposing home hosted services on internet with tinc
Hello, I need to build a VPN, and I am not sure if tinc is the right tool to use. I am more familiar with OpenVPN. I have a few boxes at home, behind a router with a dynamic IP address. Those boxes host some services, like web sites, for instance. I have a server hosted online, with a few IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. All addresses being static, of course. I am planning to use tinc on Debian, to
