Dovecot and MySQL aborted connections.
> We also spotted these sql connections getting aborted, upon upgrading MySQL from 5.6 to 5.7. (Going back to 5.6 we don't see them!) I have a mailserver running MySQL 5.6.44 which is not very busy that logs these warnings. Another busy one running MySQL 5.6.45 does not log any warnings. MySQL interactive-/wait_timeout is 28800 (8 hours), which is more than enough time to wait for a

Dovecot and MySQL aborted connections.
I will top post here ... got a similar issue with mariadb a while ago after upgrading from 10.1 to 10.2 lots of warnings about aborted connections in the logs. after digging into this issue the culprit was a new default setting value in the newer maridb server. during the update the log_warnings changed from 1 to 2 therefore showing lots of aborted connection notices in the logs changing

dsync not copying all mail
Hi, I'm still trying to migrate from Dovecot 1.2.16 to 2.0.7 on FreeBSD. Previous attempts have failed with mails not being visible after the upgrade. Version 1.2.16 was migrated from maildir to dbox about a year ago via the convert-plugin. After previous attempts to "clean" the hybrid maildir-dbox situation I used imapsync to copy all mails from the old account to a new

Panic: file sieve-cmu.c: line 262 (part_save): assertion failed: (buf->used - 1 == part->body_size.physical_size)
Hi everybody We are running in the same issue as Maciej Polewczynski does in http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2008-September/033645.html Is there already a solution? I dont think so? In the TODO-File for 1.2.2 this issue is still reported: #### [...] - sieve-cmu.c crash: i_assert(buf->used - 1 == part->body_size.physical_size); [...] #### I am not able to reproduce the problem but I

openssh and DOS
It appears that openssh has inherited the dos attack that ssh is susceptible to. This has been discussed on Bugtraq (see http://securityportal.com/list-archive/bugtraq/1999/Sep/0124.html for the thread). There does not appear to be an official for ssh. Attached below is a simple, proof of concept, patch that adds a MaxConnections to sshd_config that sets the maximum number of simultaneous

'puppet storeconfigs export' killed
Hi, I currently have a MySQL database containing all Puppet storeconfigs. My intention is to migrate to PuppetDB on a PostgreSQL server, so the first step is to use the ''storeconfigs'' face to export all the DB to a file PuppetDB can later consume. But the ''puppet storeconfigs export'' command always ends up being killed, I suspect due to some sort of OOM

Migrate dbox 1.2 virtual mail to 2.0
Hi, I'm trying to migrate from Dovecot 1.2.16 to 2.0.7. Initially the mails were stored in Maildir format but I changed them to dbox using "fast Maildir migration" and some mails are still in the old maildir format. I'm trying to migrate these mails using dsync but dsync panics: % dsync -D -o mail_location=dbox:/var/spool/vmail/bunbun.be/nick mirror

Early Media in 100 Ringing
Hello, I have a problem with the following: When I dial a PSTN number from a UAC, the call is made through a SIP Trunk (which has a connection to the PSTN) in Asterisk. The PSTN Gateway returns a 100 Ringing WITH SDP, but Asterisk forwards the 100 Ringing WITHOUT SDP: As you can see below, the SIP message from 10.254.254.1 (the PSTN Gateway) has SDP, while * (with 192.168.0.173) removes the SDP
