ACL ignored for master users
Hi there! I can't get ACL working for master users. Login as master user works fine though, and I am able to access any mailbox using the auth_master_user_separator "*", tested e.g. via Python's imaplib: import imaplib imap = imaplib.IMAP4_SSL('imap.example.com') imap.login('foo at example.com*admin-acldemo', '**********') ('OK', [b'Logged

Migration from one server to 2 new servers
Hi! Kishore, you got the command wrong.. `doveadm backup -R -u username-goes-here imapc:` for this to work, you need to configure following things: imapc_host = old-host-name imapc_password = master-password imapc_master_user = master-user-name and on the old host you need passdb { args = /etc/dovecot/passwd.masterusers driver = passwd-file master = yes pass = yes } This should

Migration from one server to 2 new servers
Hi, But there is no "doveadm backup" option in dovecot 2.0.9 version. [root at production ~]# doveadm -backup doveadm: invalid option -- 'b' [root at production ~]# dovecot --version 2.0.9 Copy the contents by using "scp", will that work? Dsync deleting mailboxes due to duplicate UIDs
Hi, I am attempting to migrate a mailspool from a cyrus server to a dovecot server using the dsync backup approach as described in the wiki at <https://wiki.dovecot.org/Migration/Dsync>. The first attempt works great. Everything copies over and a quick glance over the spool looks good. Running doveadm backup again though results in the following error: dsync(eggs): Warning: Deleting

Dsync fails to connect to remote IMAP server
Hi, I'm trying to migrate from an old courier IMAP server to Dovecot 2.3.1 (8e2f634). The old server uses self signed SSL certificate. I'm using the following configuration: imapc_host = 10.1.1.3 imapc_user = %u imapc_features = rfc822.size fetch-headers imapc_port = 993 imapc_ssl = imaps imapc_ssl_verify = no mail_prefetch_count = 20 mail_shared_explicit_inbox = no Launching dsync

Migration from one server to 2 new servers
I seem to recall a post a while back where, due to the age of the remote end, the remote side command had to be entered in the command executed on the local side. Do you have dsync on the 2.0.9 machine? > On Jul 27, 2020, at 4:16 PM, Kishore Potnuru <kishore.reachme at gmail.com> wrote: > > This is what my understanding. Using dsync to export mail to remote IMAP account
I've read the web/man pages on dsync, but it's not clear to me whether dsync can be used to export (rather than import) a user's mailbox to a remote non-dovecot IMAP account. (The intention is to use it whenever a user leaves and wants to copy their local mail to Google or whatever. I currently use uw-imapd's mailutil -- it works, but it's dreadfully slow.) As a first crack
