Removing a mailbox from a dovecot cluster
Hello, How should I remove a mailbox from a dovecot cluster? I have two dovecot in a cluster. I tried to remove one user's mailbox with theses commands I found with a little google search: doveadm flags add -u user at domain.tld "\\Deleted" ALL doveadm expunge -u user at domain.tld mailbox "*" DELETED doveadm purge -u user at domain.tld rm -fr

doveadm backup doesn't transfer mail from root INBOX
Hi, I'm trying to migrate IMAP mails from dovecot 1.1.20apple0.5 (osx) to dovecot 2.2.33.2 (ubuntu). I'm using "doveadm backup" to migrate my data. It works fine for all subfolders, but the root INBOX stay empty on the new server. I suspect a problem related with hierarchy separator ("." on previous server, "/" on new) or with the namespace prefix (set to

Namespace problem? duplicated folders...
Anyone? A tip on where/what to look at, even? I've read the docs on namespaces and I'm not sure how I could do this [or not do it, in this case] from the docs. I realize I didn't include the version I'm running in the prior post too. It is; 2.2.22 I'm sure this is related to name-spaces, but for some reason [brain damage perhaps? :) ] I can't seem to figure out how to

And I should have seen that from your first post but output from "doveconf" is definitive. -- Daniel On 1/23/2020 6:57 PM, Daniel Miller wrote: > Keeping in mind I'm 0% Dovecot certified and 100% certifiable... > > I'm guessing you have your namespace definition separate from your > special-use mailbox declarations. Namespace problem? duplicated folders...
Interesting. While I don't use mbox (dbox or maildir) I wouldn't think that would matter. Your namespace layout looks nearly the same as my own. But to verify what's going on - post the output of "doveconf namespace". Possibly just reviewing that output may tell you enough - otherwise share it (fully) here. -- Daniel On 1/23/2020 12:46 PM, Gregory Sloop wrote: >

Namespace problem? duplicated folders...
I'm sure this is related to name-spaces, but for some reason [brain damage perhaps? :) ] I can't seem to figure out how to fix it. In TBird, for example, I have a folder tree that looks like this Inbox -| Folder-A Folder-B Folder-C Folder-A Folder-B Folder-C And Folder-A, Folder-B, Folder-C are the same folders, just shown twice. [In two different hierarchies.] I'm using

Question regarding replication - duplicate emails
Hi, Anyone has suggestions? The situation also happends when I ?delete? a message from my Phone. It seems to get replicated instantly and the just deleted email is back in the mailbox again. I did remove HA Proxy support in the meantime to rule that out and I have enabled the default replication_max_conns. thanks Remko > On 13 Oct 2017, at 11:56, Remko Lodder <remko at FreeBSD.org>

dovecot duplicate emails
Hello. I have problems with duplicate emails when using replication and configured message filters on the client. Looks like when letter comes, it processed by replication and immediately after this processed by filter on client and moved to another folder. When it arrives to slave server into INBOX, it replicated back to master into INBOX and only after that - slave receives MOVE command. The

Question regarding replication - duplicate emails
Maybe you could not delete the message instantly, but keep track of last seen UID. UIDs increase monotonically, so you can rest assured that next arriving email has larger UID. Then you can bulk delete mails that are older than one day. Aki > On October 20, 2017 at 8:01 PM Remko Lodder <remko at FreeBSD.org> wrote: > > > Hi, > > Anyone has suggestions? The situation

SIS: dovecot creates duplicated attachments (sometimes)
SIS deduplication was broken in 2.2.16 and has been fixed with https://github.com/dovecot/core/commit/3b39022ea0513363241cf852b7d454c841584ea1 but still sometimes (just several times in a month or so) dovecot creates duplicated attachments. As you can see in directory listings below all attachments was created at (about) the same time, but one of them has different inode number. It easy to

Mailfiles gets duplicated
Hello, With my configuration Dovecot creates multiple duplicates (sometimes 2, sometimes 3, sometimes a plenty) of mailfiles when moving them into the Sent or the Trash folders. This does not affect the Inbox folder. I observed this while using Thunderbird on Ubuntu as a client as well as K9-Mail on Android, therefore I expect this comes from the Dovecot server and not from the client

Question regarding replication - duplicate emails
Dear Dovecot and community, We run a small email service for our customers, based on two machines that are made ?redundant or clustered? by using the replication feature of Dovecot. This works well, for most emails. Sometimes the following happends: Email to our support database arrives at the inbox. Every period a cronjob looks into that mailbox and parses the information and makes a support

2.3.1 with quota and lmtp; message may be sent more than once
Hi, I have another problem with dovecot 2.3.1 on FreeBSD (smtpd is postfix 3.3.0). When one mail is sent with different recipients and the quota limit of one user is exceeded, the message will be delivered repeatedly to all users. The queue from postfix says: (lost connection with mailserver.foo.bar[private/lmtp-dovecot] while sending end of data -- message may be sent more than once) The

Dovecot LMTP mixing up users on multi-recipient mail
Hi, I've upgraded a mailstore from Debian Jessie (aka oldstable) with Dovecot 2.2.13 to Debian Buster (next stable) with Dovecot 2.3.4.1 today. It worked pretty well, except that we're seeing error messages very similar to this old thread https://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2015-July/101396.html It appears to be happening when a mail with multiple recipients on this message store is
